My husband loves this soap. He is a mechanic and this soap removes grease the first time. When used with the exfoliating gloves I bought from this site your skin will squeak it's so clean! The smell is a little weird at first, but my whole family loves it.

It smells very much like the leaves & stems of a tomato plant; a smell many people might find to be a turn off. But I love that smell so it's great for me. There is a bit of grit to it that I've never bothered to find out what it is, but I found that grittiness to be great for exfoliating the backs of my arms (they get bumpy in the summer.) And of course for exfoliating my face around the nose & chin where I have my major oiliness. It is a bit drying for my skin in the winter so I use it every other day or so. I do love the very clean feel it leaves behind. In my opinion it follows the quality of other Burt's Bees products.

This didn't improve my skin or damage it. I actually loved the smell and how it is a soap bar. But it just didn't do anything for my troubled skin. As far as oil controlling, I can't say much about it.
Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap for Oily and Troubled Skin rates 2 out of 5 stars, from 133 customer reviews.Such a strong (artificial) smell!

Pros: Leaves Clean Feel, Not Greasy
Cons: Bad Smell

Best Uses: Combination Skin, Daily Use, Oily Skin
This soap would be great, except for the incredibly strong smell! Many people like a strong perfume in their soaps and shampoos, but I'm more in the "natural" (essential oils, plant extracts, etc.) or "fragrance-free" camp. To me it seems a shame that Burt's Bees would muck up a great natural product with a cloying artificial fragrance. I have to keep it sealed up in a plastic bag because my boyfriend is sensitive to perfumes, and this smells up the whole bathroom! As far as cleansing power goes, it leaves my skin with a nice texture -- clean, but not overly dry. So, bottom line -- it's a nice soap, but if you're not a fan of artificial fragrance, stay away.

Awesome soap - great for my skin, keeps it clean and clear but does not overdry. Bar seems to last forever, too.

I use this product about once or twice a day. Before I started using this product I had troubled skin, especially on my chin. Now it's all cleared up and I hardly get any pimples in that area. It's natural and that's why it works so great!

This is the most incredible cleanser I have ever used! I have been a faithful customer for about 6 years and I would never use anything else on my face. It removes oil, dirt, makeup, including eye makeup effortlessly. It clears up whatever blemishes I may get and leaves my face feeling clean without the tightness. The smell is absolutely INCREDIBLE!

Pros: Balances Skin, Clears Acne, Smells Great
Cons: Doesn't Remove Makeup
Describe Yourself: Budget Buyer
Best Uses: Daily Use, Oily Skin, Sensitive Skin

I love this stuff! I have tried just about everything short of expensive prescription treatments to get rid of acne and this, combined with the matching Garden Tomato Toner, worked the best. I use it twice a day and have definitely noticed clearer skin and far fewer pimples. Only thing is if you wear makeup I would say follow up washing with this soap with using the tomato toner or another toner just to be sure to get all the makeup off your face. But I would definitely 100% recommend this product if you have oily skin, acne, or sensitive oily skin that tends to react badly to other products.

My skin has become noticeably clearer and is gentle enough to use everyday. I use this soap on my body so I can't comment on how well it removes makeup but it removes any conditioner build-up on my back. I love the fresh smell. It envigorates me every morning, it's like walking through the garden. It's a nice way to start my day. I also love that it's natural.

I started using this soap a few weeks ago and I really, really like it. I look forward to using it. The smell took a little while to get used to (it smells like tomatoes, and isn't perfumey like most soaps), but now I enjoy it. I use the soap morning and night, and it's helped minimize breakouts on my forehead area that I tend to get every month. I wouldn't call my skin troubled, but it is somewhat oily and sensitive. This soap really cleans my skin but seems pretty gentle--I haven't had and reaction or over-drying. I use it and then use Burt's Bees moisturizer, and I am considering adding the Garden Tomato Toner to my routine once summer starts and my skin gets oilier. But on its own, this is a great, and cheap, face soap.
