Soap has a neat outdoorsy scent, and does seem to relieve some of the itchiness once you get the rash. It's no special preventative though, generally if you wash exposed skin within 30 minutes of being around the plant, you won't get the rash. Just gotta get the oils off your skin in time - Burt's Bees soap does this, but so do all soaps out there.

This stuff isn't a miracle, but it is temporarily soothing on inflamed, itchy skin. but The only thing I have tried it for is insect bites long after the fact. The smell is very strong and medicinal, but I kind of like it in a hot shower-- aromatherapy that isn't traditional lavender or eucalyptus.

My husband and I are both avid mountain bikers and where we ride (the Sierras and in Oregon) there is TONS of poison oak. This soap works great but the idea is to wash yourself with it as soon as you know you've been exposed to poison oak. In our case, we take as shower immediately after our ride. You don't wash yourself with it after you HAVE it! Once you have it, you have it. Maybe it'll help stop the itching, but otherwise, you have to wait for it to run it's course. Trust me, I've gotten poison oak several times if I don't wash with the soap!

This is the only product that works for me. The smell is woody and strong, and the soap itself is a horrible brown color, but I don't care. This is wonderful stuff. I buy a new bar every year to have on hand and tell all of my friends about it. It will dry out your poison ivy in no time flat, and the itching and oozing is greatly reduced. BUY IT!

Do not use this product! My wife's Poison Ivy was getting better before we tried it. It did not help whatsoever and appeared to make it worse. After we started our baking soda/alcohol solution again everything started getting better again. Just an FYI.

This soap works well. My son likes the smokey fragrance, which makes it so much easier to get him to use it.

I was doubtful when it came in my 'Natural Remedies' kit, but take it from a skeptic - it works. It kept my poison ivy to minimal itch, and amazingly enough, it didn't spread anywhere else on my body. Nice going, Burt!
