Jason Natural Cosmetics Tea Tree Scalp Normalizing Shampoo rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 94 customer reviews.DOES have SLS-like product
by Schmism[Verified Reviewer] in Frankfort, KY on 11/23/09
Pros: Great Smell
Cons: False Claims, Greasy, Ineffective
Describe Yourself: Minimalist
Hair Type: Straight Hair
Bottom Line: not recommended
The description of this product states that it contains no Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate, which is only partially true. It contains a very similar and equally irritating compund called Sodium Myreth Sulfate. Jason may not be lying, but they are telling a deliberate half-truth. Moreover, it does not clean well at all. I washed and rinsed three times and still came up with greasy hair.

do not waste your money - absolutely not worth it. one reviewer noted that it left their hair greasy by 3:30pm and they shower & washed it at 6:30am. my experience: my hair had a greasy look and feel while i was blow drying it after washing. not sure what i will have to use to strip the wax/grease off my hair and have it actually feel clean. i had to give one star to leave a rating otherwise it would get Zero. didn't clean my hair, didn't help with itching (made that worse in fact), nor did it stop or even lessen flaking.

Pros: Cleans Thoroughly
Cons: Doesn't Lather Well, Dries Hair Out, Smells Bad
Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious
Best Uses: Daily Use, Thinner Hair
Hair Type: Straight Hair

This is the only shampoo that I've ever used that I had to follow the "Lather, Rinse, and Repeat" directions. The first use doesn't wash at all, you absolutely have to use it twice each time. It does smell like dog shampoo and definitely didn't improve the health of my scalp as I'd hoped.
Jason Natural Cosmetics Tea Tree Scalp Normalizing Shampoo rates 4 out of 5 stars, from 94 customer reviews.Great, Natural Shampoo
by Satisfied Buyer[Verified Reviewer] in Mid-Missouri on 8/1/09
Pros: Cleans Thoroughly, Great Smell
Best Uses: Daily Use, Oily Hair
Hair Type: Straight Hair
Bottom Line: recommended
I really like this shampoo for my oily, itchy scalp because it is very cleansing & soothing. I find that I don't need to use a large amount, even with my long (halfway down my back) hair. If you like a shampoo that has a thick lather, you may not like this since it has no sulfates & therefore does not lather up too much. I have also used this as a body wash in a pinch.
Jason Natural Cosmetics Tea Tree Scalp Normalizing Shampoo rates 5 out of 5 stars, from 94 customer reviews.I'm flake free!
by Cid[Verified Reviewer] in Los angeles, california on 7/24/09
Pros: Adds Shine, Cleans Thoroughly, Gentle, Great Smell, Improves Hair Health, Lathers Well
Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious
Best Uses: Curly Hair, Daily Use, Oily Hair, Thicker Hair, Thinner Hair
Hair Type: Wavy Hair
Bottom Line: recommended
This product worked from the first day. I had a few flakes and it cleared them right up. I told my mother about it since she has a serious case of dandruff and it worked like a charm. No more flakes! It works on all types of hair! I have wavy curly hair, my mother has thick straight hair andmy sister has thin straight hair and works for all of us. The only thing is that it doesn't lather as well. You have to apply once all over the scalp then re-apply and it will lather real well but only for a couple of seconds, but I guess that's all you need. Leaves the hair fresh and the smell is herb like. Once you come out the shower the smell goes away not that it smells bad or anything.

I used it because I had some flaking going on. While it smells nice and cleans my hair it did not stop the flaking after over 2 wks of use. I didn't even notice a small improvement. Also, my hair got greasy by 3 pm (I wash them around 6am) so that was a bummer.
