Jason Natural Cosmetics Tea Tree Scalp Normalizing Shampoo rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 94 customer reviews.Hasn't worked
by Stacy N[Verified Reviewer] in Northfield, MN on 6/22/09
Pros: Cleans Thoroughly
Cons: Doesn't Lather Well, Dries Hair Out, Ineffective
Hair Type: Straight Hair
Bottom Line: not recommended
Cleans my hair well enough, but you definitely should follow up with a conditioner. However, it hasn't helped with itching or flaking at all, sometimes it even seems worse. I also know that this shampoo had issues a while back, because it was found to be contaminated with 1, 4-dioxane, a contaminant resulting from its processing. I hope they have reformulated.

Pros: Cooling, Stopped scalp itch
Cons: Dries Hair Out, Harsh, NOT good for thinner hair
Describe Yourself: Minimalist
Hair Type: Straight Hair
Bottom Line: not recommended
I'm a little sad that this shampoo seems to be so hard on my hair, because it really seems to have worked great for my scalp itch. I've had a very itchy scalp for years, nothing seems to help. This has soothed the itch, but it's making my hair fall out! I have fine/thin hair and don't think I can continue using this product. It's been close to a year since I've lost any hair in the shower, since I started using this shampoo I'm losing hair in the shower and more than usual in my comb.

I've tried many natural/ organic/ biodegradable shampoos to try and find one that lathers well, smells good, works in hard water and leaves my scalp and hair in good condition. Jason Tee Tree is the only one I've been happy with so far. It totally relieves dry itchy scalp and thoroughly cleans hair without being hard on the environment. I definitely recommend following the instructions for maximum benefit- it says to use a small amount of product for a quick first wash to help pull tough oils out. Then use your normal amount for a complete 2nd wash.

Pros: Cleans Thoroughly, Gentle
Describe Yourself: Beauty Conscious
Best Uses: Thicker Hair
Hair Type: Wavy Hair
Bottom Line: recommended
I like this shampoo. I have previously tried Head & Shoulders and Neutrogena T/Sal. I also would recommend T/Sal, however I would recommend the Jason tea tree oil shampoo if you are on the market for a natural product. The smell is neither good or bad, just earthy. It doesn't lather well, but most natural products don't, as they are free of the sulfates that strip your hair. This shampoo also leaves my hair incredibly soft to the touch, without residue.

I tried many products and even had medicated prescription shampoo for my dandruff/dry scalp with little to no improvement. If you have sensitive skin, allergic to chemicals, have dandruff or dry scalp I suggest trying this product. It is all natural, smells great and works even better. After years of searching I found the ONE.

My hormonal 12 year old hair has oily hair within 6 hours of washing her hair. No JOKING! We have used and bought numerous shampoos. Trying to find something to work for control. It was out of control. We were believing that their was nothing that would work. I talked to my beauty consultant and she suggested a tea tree shampoo. Well I was a little optimistic because treating oil with an oil based shampoo. It definitely worked and after a few weeks she could go an extra day with washing. It just happened to be Jason's.
