I've had contacts for 20+ years, and using a hydrogen peroxide solution helps my disposable contacts last longer. I decided to try the Walgreen brand because it is less expensive than the name brand alternative. The storage case is a thinner plastic and separates from the cap, so I'm prone to accidentally knocking it off and sending it across the room. The solution itself works the same as others I have tried, and my contacts stay just as fresh. I read in other reviews about the need to rinse before applying to eyes, but I always rinse with saline before placing in eye regardless so I am unable to confirm or deny this issue. I like to rinse before placing in my eye because soaking helps loosen and remove buildup, and rinsing with a light rub ensures a perfectly clean lens.
I have used a number of different generic versions of this type of contact cleaning system with no ill effects. When using this brand my eyes burn after putting contacts in- even when they have been in the neutralizing container for 8 hours. I HAVE to rinse them in saline in order to put them in with no problem. Never happens with any other brand.
Always wash and rinse your hands before handling your lenses. This will help to prevent eye infections by removing dirt and oils that could get on the lenses. Use only the solutions recommended by our eye care practitioner. Seek advice from your eye care practitioner before making any changes to your eye care regimen to ensure compatibility with lenses. Always follow the directions for sure in the labeling included with the solution. To open bottle, burn cap counterclockwise. Do not use if the ring is broken before the first use. Replace car after use. To obtain cleaning and disinfection the follow steps must be completed: Wash, rinse and dry your hands thoroughly before handling you lenses. Thoroughly rinse each side of your right lens for 5 seconds with fresh Walgreens Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution. Open the basket of your barrel case marked 'R' and place your right lens on the dome of the central holder. Ensure the lens does not overlap with the spokes of the holder and does not become pinched when the basket is closed. Close the basket. Repeat the rinsing step with your left lends and place it in the other marked basket. Fill the barrel case up to the marked line with your Walgreens Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution. Do not over-fill the lens case. It is important that you do not pour your Walgreens Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution into each basket. This will ensure that the neutralization process does not begin before the lenses are immersed in solution. Please the lens holder into the barrel case and close securely. Allow your lenses to soak for at least 6 hours or overnight ensuring that the barrel case is in an upright position and that the lenses are fully immersed in the Walgreens Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaning and Disinfecting Solution. Do not shake/invert the lens case during a disinfection process. After a period of at least 6 hours. your lenses may be removed from the barrel case and worn. Always discard the remaining solution from the barrel case. Rinse the barrel case thoroughly with un-preserved sterile saline and leave it open to dry. Your eye care professional may recommend additional products or procedures (such as rubbing your lenses with a separate daily cleaner and rinsing with saline) to care for your lenses based on your individual tear chemistry and lens wearing schedule. Always follow your eye care professional's instructions.
