This sunless tanner rated one of the healthiest options on EWG's skin deep site. It rates the lowest score on developmental/reprotoxicity and cancer. Contains low hazard ingredients which is why I decided to pay more for this sunless tanner. It dried quickly and doesn't make you feel like you have a coat of lotion all over. My hands and feet never feel dirty or clammy after applying. I really like this product. Worth the money. I kind of like the shimmer. I feel like it gives me a neat glow.

I used this once and then gave it to someone. I didn't like the smell or the sparkle shimmer for work. The smell lasted all day and I was very conscious of it- almost wanted to apologize when someone walked into my office.

I have tried many self tanners over the past 10 years and I have resisted the higher priced products, however Xen Tan Gold is worth the money. I apply it about every five days to my neck, arms and torso and it never speckles or looks blotchy. It is PERFECT on my arms, but it does not last as well on my neck/chest due to sweating during workouts, so I supplement with the Xen face tanner in those areas. This product does not stain clothes - the only product I can say that about; I just make a mess with products with a bronzer. It doesn't last well on my legs due to shaving, but I am sure it would be fine for someone who waxes. I am so thankful to find this product on Drugstore.com, since Ulta does not carry it in my area. I also highly recommend using the Xen blending balm with this tanner, but I have been unable to find it anywhere for about a month.

I like that the consistency is thin so it makes application much easier and the finish is not streaky. I would not put it on and go out. I really did not notice the shimmer being obvious after being applied. I did not experience the smell as strong or unpleasant. I like that it did not have that typical self tanner smell that lingers.
I was surprised by how dark it was. I am use to using gradual tanners and of course it appears darker and I thought slightly orange when I woke up the following morning. However, as I got use to it I did like it.

I use this once a week after my morning shower. It dries quickly and I'm done. Ready for the day. Just remember to wash your hands after applying.

I am very pale - so always a bit nervous about any self tanning or even glow products. Almost all of them make me orange, or look extremely fake - and that just looks bad bad bad.
But I decided to go ahead and try this Xen Tan gold product - and I think I've finally found somethat that will work for us pale folks who want a little color.
It comes out like an almost clear gel w/gold in it - and has a pleasant smell (not overdone, and not like some of the faux-tan items I've smelled).
Don't let the gold throw you - it's actually really subtle and seems to help boost the color a bit.
The other trick I found is that for someone like me, 2-3 days only is enough - no need to apply every day for a week to get the color right. So that will stretch the bottle. Which, since it is a bit pricey, is a good thing.
