This product does not contain any parabens as someone noted below. Beauty Without Cruelty is one of the top vegetarian beauty product companies and this face wash is nothing short of amazing. True, those with dry or highly sensitive skin should use this probably no more than once a day, but I use it twice a day and found that it improved the condition of my skin within the first month of consistent use. The alpha hydroxy complex (this product is probably one of the only vegetarian products containing alpha hydroxies) helps to deep clean and remove dead skin cells. Bonus? Removes ALL makeup at the end of the day. Perfect!

This makes your skin feel clean at first...I have found it's overdrying, and after 2-weeks of use my skin is a mess! It's dry around my nose (which never happens) and my chin and forehead are broken out, it's super-painful. My search for a cleanser continues.

I have been using this cleanser for about 4 weeks and I have noticed improvement. My skin feels softer and looks brighter. I would caution those who have very sensitive or dry skin. The scent is very light and pleasant but again, I would caution overly sensitive types since it still is fragranced. In my experience, the product has been great. I would highly recommend it to those who do not have major skin concerns.

Has Parabens, unfortunately. Should have read the ingredients...I purposely bought this cleanser because I am trying to stop using cosmetics with parabens in them (may be linked to breast cancer). I don't understand how a company can say its ingredients are "vegetarian" if they use such a chemical. Very disappointed.

I absolutely LOVE this product! I use the herbal cleansing lotion/cream in the morning and use this alpha-hydrox at night...wow! Finally, a line that works has great ethics, and is cost-effective. I will never stray from this regimen.

I think this is a pretty good cleanser. I've tried so many different lines and spent thousands of dollars on skincare. I like BWC products. This cleanser removes makeup and leaves your skin very clean and soft, almost squeaky but not dry. I really like the BWC Herbal Cleanser as well but I think this one removes dirt and makeup better. I like to use this one at night and the herbal in the morning. I would say this is better if you have oilier skin, wear foundation, or if you like your skin practically squeaky clean. I love essential oils so I think it smells good.

I really want to like this cleanser - and I do, somewhat. The most frustrating thing about this cleanser is that it doesn't lather - at all! The smell is okay. I really like the way it makes my skin feel and look after using it.

Do not use this if you need it to remove med-full coverage foundation and/or mascara waterproof or not as it removes virtually no makeup! I wear an all-day wear foundation and this sucks really bad at removing it. When I get out of the shower I use my cotton pads soaked in toner and there's still tons of foundation left on my face and mascara which isn't even waterproof! This also doesn't lather in the slightest! It's pure gel, like hair gel, so it slips right off your hands if you're not extremely careful. I have to use 3-4 times more then any other cleanser because of it's non-lathering and it doesn't spread well on wet skin. Use only if you wear light weight or no foundation, as it's a waste otherwise. Back to my hunt for a cleanser that will remove my foundation fully! (Had no idea this would be so difficult a task!)
