I have very sensitive skin, so i was a little hesitant about using this cleanser at first. i'm happy to say that, after two weeks of continual use (i was my face once a day, at night) my skin feels softer, looks brighter, and it's definitely blemish-free. (i tend to experience small breakouts once a month that are decidedly hormone-related.) it leaves my skin feeling super clean, but not dried-out--if it feels a little too tight, i'll use some weleda skin oil or moisturizer to even things out a bit, but, i've only had to do that once or twice.

Hands down the best cleansing product I have ever tried, natural or otherwise. My skin is oily/combination, occasional breakouts on cheeks due to hormones and stress. I use this product morning and night and have fewer breakouts if any, smaller pores, clearer more even skin, and fine lines are diminished. I believe that this alpha hydroxy acid mix is superior to others because of the inclusion of lactic acid. Cindy Crawford claims to stave off aging with a water/milk spray she uses daily; it is my experience that lactic acid has unique anti-aging properties. At the same time it is much milder than other AHA products, and contains no objectionable ingredients. The BEST choice for oily, combination, or aging skin!

My skin tends to be flawless from September to February or March, and in some level of breakout for much of April through August. I started using this cleanser when the weather started warming up in March and no breakouts. I broke out briefly when I switched to an anti-bacterial soap (a requirement the week before my laser eye surgery) and cleared up again as soon as I switched back. Haven't tested this yet during serious heat/humidity but it's June and I'm still breakout free. I really just tried this product in an effort to use more natural product, but--knock on wood--it has done more than I expected.

At first I was excited to find something that may exfoliate and not dry out my skin at the same time - WHOOPS. After 3 weeks of 2x daily use, my skin started peeling around the mouth and nose and was very painful. Though it says NORMAL to OILY i would only recommned for folks with thicker less sensitive skin.

Thisi s a great and costly face wash, especially because it's also in the natural/organic category. I've tried using many facewashes and they're often too drying, not thorough in cleaning, or something else. This takes off all my makeup when I use it at night, and I like that it foams, and it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth.

This is my second bottle and I will be sticking with this product. I use this product at night in the shower. With my initial experience, I did notice for the first few days my skin peeled slightly in some areas of my face. But it only lasted those first few days of use. I recommend combining the use of this product with a good moisturizer, as I can see how it could be drying to some skin types. I have combination skin - a slightly oily tzone. Sensitive skin around my nose. My skin has been smoother since using this. No more of those tiny clusters of bumps to pick at, especially after using their purifying facial mask once a week. It is gel-like so if you're not careful it could slide off your fingers. And it does lather on a moist face. If it feels too slick and like it's not lathering just wet your face more. I love this product and what it has done for my face. I am a 34 year old mother that does not wear makeup.

I wouldn't advise anyone with dry skin to use this. It is slightly drying, but not enough that it makes my skin tight. I have combo skin, with normal on cheeks and oily through the T-Zone. I think this would be really great for someone with oily skin.

One thing is for sure, any of the BWC face wash products I've used definitely clean all of the make up off of my face. This cleanser does not suds up as much as other cleansers but it really gets deep down to clean out the junk. I purchased this type after using the Vitamin C kind also by BWC. I can't say that I've noticed any difference with the alpha hydrox type. It's still a good cleanser though but I think I prefer the Vitamin C to this one. The smell is better.
