Comments about Hibiclens Antiseptic/Antimicrobial Skin Cleanser, 4 fl oz:
My brother had a subcutaneous cyst removed and had 20 stitches in the back of his neck. Hibiclens was recommended by his surgeon, his family GP and the nurses as being safe and painless to use on his stitches wound after surgery as well as before. He was told not to use hydrogen peroxide nor alcohol. The antibiotic disinfectant and dye that was used during surgery bled out and mixed with his sweat turning it from pink to a deep red. Bobby swore it was infection, however, after squirting on some Hibiclens, dabbing at the wound with a damp cloth and then rinsing with cool water, there was no pain and the red was almost a soft pink again. We will always use Hibiclens as a medical soap. I even used it on my sunburn and it took out the fire!
Comments about Hibiclens Antiseptic/Antimicrobial Skin Cleanser, 4 fl oz:
My brother had a subcutaneous cyst to be removed. Hibiclens was recommended by the nursing staff and the surgeon at the hospital to be used before and after surgery. Surgery required 20 stitches and Hibiclens was easy on the stitches. I used Lanacane spray with it afterwards because Bobby complained the stitches itched. On 3 July they come out but Bobby likes the product and will keep on using Hibiclens albeit not all the time.
To use, thoroughly rinse the area to be cleansed with water. Apply the minimum amount of Hibiclens necessary to cover the skin or wound area and wash gently. Rinse again thoroughly. Surgical Hand Scrub: Wet hands and forearms with water. Scrub for 3 minutes with about 5mL of HIBICLENS with a brush. Rinse thoroughly under running water. Repeat. Dry thoroughly. Personal Hand Wash: Wet hands with water. Dispense about 5mL of HIBICLENS into cupped hands and wash in a vigorous manner for 15 seconds. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Preoperative Skin Preparation: Apply HIBICLENS liberally to surgical site and swab for at least 2 minutes. Dry with a sterile towel. Repeat. Dry with a sterile towel.
