Comments about Brita Hard Sided Water Filter Bottle Replacement Filters, 2 ea:
These are to be replaced inside the white plastic vessel that came with the original water bottle. I read some reviews that said they just attached it to the lid/straw area so you could see the gray filter from outside the bottle. I guess you could do that but I'm not sure the water would be filtered as well. So you do have to disassemble the white filter container to put the new filter in, but it's not hard to figure out.
That said, I love this water bottle. I never have to worry about drinking the whole bottle when I'm out and about and then refilling it with random drinking fountain water that has a strange taste. It always tastes good with this bottle. And I'm not adding excess waste to the landfills as I would with disposable bottled water.
I try to change the filter every two months, sometimes a little longer. Hope this helps.
For new filters, rinse filter under running water for 15 seconds. Place new filter into housing and press down firmly until filter is flush with straw. Align lid and straw in unlocked position, then rotate straw to lock. Fill water filter bottle with water, screw on lid, then sip and enjoy. Replace water filter every 2 months or 40 gallons. Substances reduced may not be in all user’s water.
