I have very dry, sensitive skin. This bar is very gentle and very moisturizing. I use it for my entire body, in the shower or in the bath. (Be warned: it is so moisturizing, that it clouds bath water almost immediately, making the water look dirty.) Although it is labeled fragrance-free, it does have a slight, odd scent, but that scent is not imparted to your skin.

I started using this soap when I got hives as a teenager from food allergies and soon realized how great it was to keep my skin moisturized in the winter when the dry heat and cold temperatures made my skin dry and itchy. This soap is the gold standard for soft, smooth skin and over the years I've found nothing better than Aveeno for my sensitive skin.

I've always had combo, acne prone skin that leans more oily than dry. However, with age (I'm 44) I've realized my skin is actually more dry than I thought and I still have mild adult acne which I believe is mostly hormonal. This bar is really great. I use it on my face and body. It doesn't cause break outs. It is super gentle and leaves my skin soft. It is truly fragance free, so if you like a little scent you may not appreciate this bar. Also, it has a bit of a scratchy texture, but only when you rub the bar in your hands to first lather. Which I actually like because when I use on my body I rub the bar on my body for a little extra exfoliation. It is very gentle and soothing. Feels very smooth when lathered on hands or washcloth. I use this in combo with the Aveeno Soothing Bath treatment which I also love. The other use I sort of discoverd by accident is that I use it as a pre-wash on my hair to keep my scalp from itching. It works great and I don't need conditioner after. It seems to help keep my hair soft. I also should note that I only wash my hair 2 x per week. Occasionally 3. My hair is wavy and I no longer color it, so it is full gray. The shampoo that I've been using with this that works really well is DHS Clear Shampoo for Daily Cleaning of Hair & Scalp, Fragrance Free which is available right here at drugstore.com

I have used this for about 5 years and can't find anything else that does a better job. It leaves skin clean without drying or erritating.Helps clear up imperfections.

this cleanser was recommended to me by my beverly hills dermatologist 20 years ago. it's still my favorite facial cleanser today. i keep it in stock in my bathroom. won't be without.
