My son was on Marilax for years and did nothing for him. Found the Fletchers at my local drug store and bought it to try. Greatest decision I've made for my son! My son only goes about every 3-4 days and is in pain trying to go. If he hasn't gone by the 3rd day of not going again I give him a dose of the Fletchers and usually by the next day he is going and it so much easier for him! Only problem is, it's getting hard to find so I've had to order it online.

My 2 year old has started suffering from constipation over the past couple of months. Her pediatrician recommended Miralax but I won't give it to her, given the recent controversy over its safety for children. I love this product because it is more natural, gentle, and safe than some of the other products out there; it's been around for a very long time, and I trust it. It generally takes some time for it to work for her (longer than the 6-12 hours stated on the package), but it certainly does help. She knows that her "root beer" makes her feel better and takes it with no problem!

We use this for our 6 year old who often complains about constipation. We give her about a tsp. (not much more because that can cause the opposite problem) at bedtime every night and she's much more regular and we are all much happier. I suggest keeping it in the refrigerator for better taste.

I'm in my 70's and have used Fletcher's (used to be called castoria) my whole life...because it is gentle but effective.

My 7-year-old has ongoing constipation issues. Fletcher's Senna is a good, non-stimulant, aid that gets him 'flowing' with zero to mild stomach discomfort. We've used it somewhat regularly for the past few years. The downside is that I think his body has gotten used to having the senna. So, that combined with his tendency to 'withold' (fighting the urge to have a bowel movement) have kept us using it for longer than I'd expected.
