I have fine, thin hair that is dark blonde, not colored. I have to wash it everyday or it looks flat and greasy, but that was leading to my scalp getting really dry. I have tried other brands of dry shampoo but they would make my hair look worse. I started researching brands on the internet and read the best reviews about this brand. Batiste Dry Shampoo has changed my life! I can get 2-3 days out of a regular hair washing now. I apply Batiste in the morning as I'm getting ready by pulling hair up into a loose bun and spraying all around my crown. I work it into my hair with my fingers like I would if I was washing my hair in the shower. I then let my hair down and spray some at the top back of my head (where a bun would sit) and work it in in the same way. It takes away the greasy look completely and gives my hair some lift. It doesn't feel like it has tons of product all over it, and it seems to actually look and feel better a couple of hours after applying (because it probably has time to absorb the oil). It doesn't leave a white "powdery" look like some dry shampoos can. I have a friend with dark brown hair and she uses the dark Batiste and says it blends right in. It's not as fresh smelling as regular shampoo - more low key and not overpowering. It works fine with the thermal protective spray I use. The more I use Bastiste, the more hairstyles I have been able to do (curls, pulling hair back in different ways, etc) because the texture of my hair (by not traditionally washing it everyday) holds style better than my freshly washed hair. I've always wanted to try exercising before work in the mornings, but didn't want to have to get up even earlier to accommodate washing my hair afterwards, but now Batiste can let me do that! Like I said, it's been life changing!

I do not understand the rave reviews. This stuff left a massive white layer of dust on my brunette hair. Made my hair look all gray/white. and you can't brush it out. I had to wash it out. Glad I got the little travel size. Awful stuff.

Batiste is my favorite dry shampoo. You can't beat it in this price range. I have long fine straight hair and I tend to get greasy roots which makes second day hair almost impossible without dry shampoo. The only negative is this does leave a white powdery reside if you don't shake the can well or get heavy handed. But I have a tip! My trick is to actually use this at night before bed the day I wash my hair. I put a generous amount on my roots, crown, anywhere that tends to get limp or greasy. I don't care if it turns white, I'm going to bed. By morning it all absorbs and no white residue, just great second day hair! Sometimes I even use this on clean hair for extra volume. Smells clean not too perfumes like other products. I give it 4 stars because while I love the product there really isn't that much in the can and it usually only lasts me 1-2 weeks with regular use.

This is the BEST dry shampoo out there. I've tried other dry shampoos and I am always disappointed, and come back to Batiste. As a full-time working mother of a 2-year old, who is also in graduate school part-time, this is the ultimate life saver for the occasional morning where a shower didn't happen, or after the gym -- particularly when I am squeezing in the gym over lunchtime, and have to go back to the office afterwards. Just a quick shot with the blowdryer and a spray of batiste and I am good to go. You'd never know I just did a spin class! This product is a busy mom's best kept secret.

When you first spray it, there will be A LOT of white residue. Just rub it into your scalp and it works wonders!

Batiste is one of the original dry shampoo products on the market, and it is still a good value and quality compared with the zillion dry shampoos sold today.
I had used a different product for years on and off, and then found this brand on Drugstore.com and decided to try it. I am more fond of Batiste now, and will go out of my way to order it because it isn't always available locally. It is not as chalky as some other brands, and is comparable in price, if not a bit cheaper, than many. There are some insanely expensive dry shampoos out there, and a few of them give quite wonderful results, but Batiste is great for the money, and for the occasional user uninterested in plonking down $25-30 at a whack.
I prefer this original formula and scent to any of the others of this brand, and there is a way to use dry shampoo that is important to getting the best result. Use short bursts of spray, 6 to 10 inches from the hair, and concentrate on the area it is most useful, around the bangs and part. Sometimes I bend and give one spray to the underside of my hair, just for good measure. Then go do something else for a few minutes. Get another cup of coffee, check your email, whatever. Let the product sit for 5 or 10 minutes before touching your hair again. Then use a good bristle brush and brush vigorously to distribute product. If you've used the correct amount, there shouldn't be a white cast to your hair, but occasionally I find that it has settled into the part of my hair and to fix this, I rub along the part with a tissue, and it disappears.
The scent is okay, nothing special, but it disappears quickly, which is the most important to me. If your hair is very dark, you may prefer a darker tinted product-- on my light brown/dark blond hair, there is no problem. For price per use, you get a bunch of uses out of one container.

Oh boy! This stuff is really magical. I have super dark, almost black hair. I always use it at night before I sleep so the scent will fade by the time I wake up. In my experience, when using this, it's most important to really shake, spray then RUB RUB RUB your scalp to dissipate the white cast. I usually take a few flash photos with my phone of the back of my head to make sure all the white powder has blended and isn't just sitting on my hair. I LOVE THIS DRY SHAMPOO! It totally removes oil and refreshes your hair. You have to use a lot to really make your hair voluminous though, I have found that when I don't use enough my hair looks super limp. Don't be intimidated by the white stuff. As long as you rub it in well it'll look like fresh, washed hair. I've found that when I use this it also seems to make my hair stay fresh longer. For example, my hair starts getting oily 2 days after I use a regular shower/shampoo to wash it. But after I use this, my hair gets oily a lot later, after 4+ days. With the scents - I've tried Original and Floral & Flirty...Floral & Flirty smells like straight up gardenias...If you've smelled Michael Kors' original perfume, or Kim Kardashian's original perfume, it smells like that...Very strong and kind of unpleasant. Original is more of a strong citrus-y musky smell, I definitely prefer Original over Floral. Another awesome thing about this product, though, is that the smell goes away really fast. PERFECT PRODUCT!!!!!! I'll buy it again and again.
