I use this lip balm daily. Absolutely love it. Like most lip colors, it does come off over time - but it is so easy to apply. And it is a nice rosy color - nothing too bright or bold. Natural looking. No complaints here. I hope that Blistex keeps making it - they used to have a lip tone tinted balm that I purchased, and eventually that was discontinued, and I was disappointed. I don't wear much makeup and really do not have much time to devote to a morning makeup routine anyhow - so this little addition is perfect!!
I read the reviews here first, and I still decided to give this a try, since I miss the discontinued Blistex Lip Tone SO MUCH! Well, the verdict is.. while this is not horrible, I will not be returning for more. Primarily for 2 reasons: (1) I can't get past the berry smell (& taste); and (2) the color is too red for me, even though it is a sheer color. I could live with one of these flaws, but not both, in spite of the fabulous price. Unless they return the beloved Lip Tone (which was a more neutral pink-ish shade & NO smell), I guess I will stick w/ my pricier Pacifica Lip Tint (Coconut Nectar is the closest neutral shade).
I guess it depends on the color of your natural lip and what you consider 'nude', but for me this is the perfect natural lip. Its not vibrant, but a sheer wash of deep rose with red tone that makes my medium pigmented lips look full, lush, and moisturized. I wouldn't call it matte as it has a bit of gloss/shine to it, but its not so glossy as to look like high shine gloss either. Just makes lips look healthy and moisturized. Scent is definitely fruity strawberryish, and taste is on the sweet side. Lasts for about an hour, but it wears off evenly and leaves a slight stain behind which is great. For the price its perfect.
If you liked the neutral nude color, this is NOT it. It's very bright pinky-red and smells a little too sweet-sugary of strawberry. I was a very big fan of Lip Tone and used to stock-up so was excited by the previous poster but now feel foolish having bought 2 of these... This is WAY brighter than Bonne Bell Strawberry or Dr Pepper! If you're looking for neutral nude lip-tone, sorry, you need to keep looking but if you want bright pinky-red, then go for it!
I loved the lip tone so much and was very sad when they discontinued it. This product is the lip tone with a strawberry fragrance. It is the same color and matte finish as the lip tone was. Same lightweight feel on lips. I hate lipstick and I love that Blistex FINALLY brought back a tinted balm in the perfect shade!!! Please don't discontinue this one!
Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every 2 hours. Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating. Children under 6 months of age: Ask a doctor. Protect the product from excessive heat & direct sunlight.
