this packaged cleaning fluid is essential to clean the oils from the shaver. If I go several weeks without this cleaner fluid the electric razor becomes clogged with hair particles that do not wash off competely with water alone. Some issues I have with this cartridge for the alcohol cleaner fluid are 1) the cap is difficult to pop off and typically the alcohol spashes a bit when the cap finally releases; 2) the machine uses only 2/3 of the fluid before it registers empty and will not work anymore. I have to tilt the device to get a few extra cleaning cycles. I also use an eyedropper to reuse the fluid leftover inside the cartridge. A better design would allow more complete utilization of the cleaning fluid. It would also be nice to be able to buy a bottle of cleaning fluid to reload the cartridge.

I use this refill cartridge in the unit my Braun shaver sits in. Always gives a totally clean head on the shaver - use it about 2 x week.

Changing the Clean & Renew Cartridge is very easy and convenient. Here's how to do it: When the level indicator lights up permanently red, the remaining fluid in the cartridge is sufficient for about 5 more cycles. When the level indicator blinks red, the cartridge needs to be replaced. After having pressed the lift button to open the housing, wait for a few seconds before removing the used cartridge to avoid any dripping. Before discarding the used cartridge, make sure to close the openings using the lid of the new cartridge. You can then dispose your used refill in normal waste as it does not require any special disposal.
