I purchased this for my one year old granddaughter. She was only interested in throwing it around (which could be dangerous since it is wood)! Her almost 3 year old brother lost interest in five minutes. In my opinion, this age group enjoys the much larger bead displays like those seen in play areas in malls or on large wooden boxes. This item is only 3.5" by 5.5". In the end if you buy it for very small children supervise very carefully.
