I really liked this brush for use on longer vacations. It works nearly as well as the rechargeable version at a fraction of the price. While on trips you no longer need to carry around the charger. At this price a got one for each of my kids as well.

I ordered this recently and was disappointed. While this is the quietest automatic toothbrush I have ever used, I had a hard time installing the two batteries. The small metal piece that goes at one end of the battery pack kept falling out. I do not look forward to replacing the batteries! Another problem: It is not as powerful as my Oral B $8 power toothbrush from my local drugstore. I would not buy this again.
I am comparing my usage of Phillips Sonicare Essence to this brush. I bought this toothbrush to replace my Essence series brush while I travel as this is AA battery operated. The motor for this brush is a lot more intense than the Essence. It's a lot louder and you definitely feel a lot more like you've just inserted a machine to clean your mouth. The 30-second timer is a less recognizable than it is on the Essence. However, at the end of the cycle it does feel as though it's been efficient in my morning and night oral routine. In terms of function, it works great and I will use it as intended for travel, but to anyone considering this brush for daily use, I would strongly recommend considering the Essence series brush.
Nice to finally have a travel option to my Sonicare Elite. No one needs the extra weight and size of the home model while on vacation. Nearly as effective as the home model. I recommend it!
