Truly this set has it all! The larger blender is great for making smoothies / nut milks (almond milk / cashew milk / flaxseed milk / etc). It really chops up everything thrown in there within minutes when it comes down to making drinks to enjoy. I always pre-cut my veggies before making smoothies though as I believe it does a better / faster job at blending.

The smaller blender that comes in this set is amazing at making nut or seed butters! Works well beyond my previous food processor. It still; however, takes about 10-12 minutes to make nut butters (if you use raw seeds). So having the higher speeds doesn't necessarily mean a shorter amount of time--just a smoother butter.

I haven't really used the smallest blenders yet but I can imagine they have the same preformance as the other two :)

The only cons I can truly point out--which is why the 4/5 stars--is 1) VERY SHARP BLADES! The first time I was cleaning the blade part I cut my thumb very cleanly which refused to stop bleeding for the next 24 hours (I had to constantly change bandaids that were stuffed with cotton balls for pressure / absorbtion). I haven't cut myself since because I use a scrub brush, but I would strongly advise not cleaning the blades with a cloth unless you use extreme caution. 2) I noticed recently that the plastic has very small surface scratches on it. I am assuming that is because of the high speeds at which the food is being chopped up / thrown about in the blender (especially the nuts).

Overall, I would recommend to friends and family. :-) Just make sure the ninja doesn't getcha when your cleaning it.

FYI: Despite the name 'Ninja', it sounds like any other food processor I have owned (Loud!!!--get ear plugs).
