It may be this stuff or maybe not. I'm still going to continue using it. I use it after shampooing mixed with my conditioner. It makes my hair soft and shiny. Occasionally I will put it on my arms and legs as a moisturizer. I also sometimes put it under my eyes to prevent wrinkles. It has a great taste so I use it when I cook as well. I use it as a substitute for butter too. It's just an all around great product. The color is off-white versus white the way...Read complete review Despite that this product claims to be organic and unrefined, it is most definitely NOT a grade A (or even B) virgin quality coconut oil. The color is off-white versus white the way coconut oil is supposed to be. The consistency stays the same; it does not become hard when temperatures are cold and liquid when warm; it has remained in the same in-between creamy form since the day it arrived. The scent may have a coconut odor but it also has a chemical scent in combination, perhaps from the processing of the oil or the use of inferior coconuts. After doing a lot of research, there is no such thing as coconut oil for the skin and coconut oil for consumption, the only difference is for marketing purposes so companies can charge more for the "skin" variety and profit from the sales. I will be sticking with high quality Virgin coconut oil for my skin from now on, the kind you can actually eat. I tasted a little of this stuff and it is rank! Horrible, disgusting, and unusable. I don't want my skin absorbing this nasty product and am throwing it away. Sorry Spectrum! Comments about Spectrum Essentials Organic Coconut Oil, Unrefined, 15 oz: as crazy as it sounds, I use for oiling ( rinse mouth with a ts of cc oil and my mouth and teeth are disinfection from germs). I melt and use on my skin after being out in the cold snow. I use 1/2 ts for hair and let it sit for a few hours, shampoo and rinse out and my hair feels silky and smooth. When I opened it I noticed it looked strange then I smelled it and it smells strange too. At that point I should have known there's something wrong with it but I decided to taste it and it is gross.
