This product was meant to be used chilled and placed on painful part of the body. It is filled with "beads" that are supposed to hold in cold and transfer it to the body. This product has a strap with Velcro to keep the product in place.

We have a number of reusable cold pack products, used for migraine headaches, back aches, body aches etc. This product looked good as most gel packs are not large enough to cover the entire forehead or painful part of the back. The beads looked interesting and the strap looked like a benefit

We put the unit into the freezer and when the next pain hit I took the product to place on the painful area. The first thing I noticed was a horrible "plastic like" smell the Cold Pack was giving off. I was using the product this first time for a migraine headache, where I place cold packs on my forehead and the back of my neck and the smell only increased the intensity of my migraine.

I tried wrapping it in a pillowcase to eliminate the smell of the cheap plastic, but the smell came right through. It made use of the product unendurable for headaches.

The next thing we noticed was that the cold the product was created to transfer disappeared in only a few minutes. One of my family members took this product out of the freezer for a back ache and found it only gave off cold for less then 10 minutes before the entire thing warmed up to body temperature.

Between the smell, which was intolerable, the short time it can be used, due to its losing its ability to transfer cold after only a few minutes out of the freezer and the stiffness of the product, we eventually threw the Cold Pack away after only a few uses.

I don't believe I will ever buy a "bead" filled product again because of the unpleasant situations we encountered with this product.

I still need a good cold pack that holds cold and which will cover the entire forehead of an adult. I have yet to find a usable product in this size.
