This is the "Stephan" version of this venerable classic men's grooming product. This version of Wildroot lacks the petrolatum, bees wax and the generous amount of lanolin one can enjoy using the Original version. The original is much richer, due to ingredients and makes one's hair slicker with more shine and more control (although no Wildroot is a strong control hair groom. The Stephan version reviewed here is much lighter, replacing the petrolatum and bees wax with glycerin and seems to have less lanolin. The aroma of both products is similar, light, pleasant and unobtrusive. The consistency of the Stephan Wildroot is less rich and oily than the original (which may be preferred by some) and is instead very much like a body lotion. You can actually get much of the same effect using Nivea Men's Body Lotion to groom your hair. I hope that Drugstore.com would replace this version with or at least additionally also sell the original. It's not that this is a bad product but that the original is so much better. I gave the Stephan version two stars. I would give the original four.

Needs to be put in a tube and change the smell of it.

Smells great, just enough hold without making hair sticky or hard. Keeps hair in place and looking neat and sharp!
