I bought these because they were on sale. But I received a box of expired bars, so maybe that's why the company is discounting the price. I also didn't realize they were expired until after I'd eaten two of them, so keep in mind this review is based on a preservative-free bar that expired 2 months ago.

The bars were sticky, so I didn't find them good for an "on to go" snack.
Although I love fresh pineapple, the pineapple flavor is overwhelming -- citrus, tart, cloying.
It tastes like a pineapple was fermented, pressed into a bar and partially dried. No balance of flavors.
If you want a straight-up pineapple bar, this snack is for you.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This tastes good, but much sweeter than I expected. I toned it down a bit by eating some almonds with it. I would recommend it if you like things sweet, or just have an occasional sweet tooth.
