I don't know how it could be possible, but it seemed this mascara made my lashes skinnier! And by late afternoon there were tiny unattractive spikes on the ends. I used this 3 times and then it went into the garbage.

I'm always on the hunt for a good waterproof mascara that adds and definition to my long lashes and, most importantly to me, separates them. I really love my long eyelashes, but most mascaras just clump my lashes together and criss-cross the hairs. This wand has a double-edge so that the "short" side coats lashes and adds volume, then the "butterfly" edge lengthens and wings them out on the outer edges. The first couple times I used this, I loved it; it really gave definition to my eyelashes instead of just making them look black. But over time, for some reason, it's not separating my lashes anymore or making them look full; it's causing the same lash criss-crossing I thought I'd dodged. I don't know if it's because the brush seems plasticky and hard with the tiny "spikes" being spaced too far apart? Maybe with use the mascara is hardening on the brush, and I just need to find a way to clean it. Not sure, but I'd only been using it about a month before I noticed the change (I've had it for 3 months now and don't use it as often).

But I haven't given up on it yet. I do like the double-edge butterfly idea, and it is truly waterproof and raccoon-eye-proof. I just wish the bristles weren't so hard and that it separated my lashes better while adding fullness at the same time.

I only use Loreal mascara because I have had no luck with other brands. This is the first time I've used this particular product. It's fantastic! The brush took some practice, but it works great with my long thick lashes that are hard to cover. I also like the thick wand handle because I have arthritis in my fingers. The mascara is waterproof, but it'd not that hard to get it off. I love this!
