my wife used this several times now and she actually doesn't feel much discomfort after first initial few times of usage. She described it as a rolling coils like the epilators she's been used to in the past, this one is made of metal plates that come together to work as tweezers as the roller head turns. This is more efficient and less painful. she like the design and it's easy to hold on.
