Purell is the original and the only one I use. I keep a small bottle in my purse and use it after I come out of every store while shopping. Shopping carts in particular are filthy! Even though many stores offer disinfecting wipes for the carts, I still use it when exiting the store. I never use any other brands. Most have a strong scent which lingers on the hands. One store brand took multiple hand washings to get the smell off. Purell has no scent other than the smell of the alcohol - a sharp, astringent smell that fades quickly. Other brands can be a bit sticky, especially if they contain skin softeners. Purell absorbs and dries quickly. If you've used too much or need to clean your hands from something while out, it wipes off well too. I have not found any brand better than Purell. This large size allows me to fill smaller sizes economically. After a decade at least, I highly recommend it and while there is some discussion these days about the dangers of over using such products, as with anything else, used properly and in moderation, it's an effective way to clean your hands while on the go when hand washing is simply not at option.
