This dispenser is adorable! BUT...
There are no instructions on how to start the tape, or how to open the dispenser.
I ended up watching a video of a kid who I was expecting the ending would be in the ER.. I contacted the company for more information.
After I received the solution to this puzzle dispenser, I asked them to please re-evaluate this product, and to include instructions.
You can not easily reach the tape to start it.. and to open the dispenser involves a squeezing pulling maneuver to remove the lizard to reach the tape -- I worried I might break the unit in the process.. there is no easy method, no 'open here', no latch, etc..

So adorable.. BUT.. poorly designed.

Here is the method from Scotch tape:
The Scotch(R) Chameleon Dispenser C34-Chameleon is a two part dispenser and needs to be separated before you refill. The dispenser splits down the middle of the nose.

To refill dispenser, hold the two halves with thumb on back, forefinger on front. Squeeze together and pull two pieces apart. Once the dispenser is separated, you slide roll off the tape spool from the attached mandrel and replace with a new spool of tape. Then push to the halves back together.
