I use this treatment prior to each shampoo. I'll even comb it through my hair before I go running or when I go to the beach and wash it out when I get my shower. It is a savior to my bleached, color-treated, and flat-ironed hair!

I received this product in the Burt's sampler package of ten items. Aside from the nice citrus smell, this product was disgusting. The consistency was very thick and gluey and oily, and I was afraid to put it on my hair, but I figured maybe it would work together with the water and heat of the shower. Not the case. My hair felt like it was covered in Crisco. When my hair dried, the strands separated into clumps and hung like ropes on my head. It took four shampoos with regular shampoo to get this stuff out of my hair. I would never buy this again. Try Neutrogena 60-second Hair Repair instead, it is fabulous.

I used this product after coloring my hair. My hair was extremely dry and brittle and this product helped moisturize and add shine and strength back to my hair. You definitely should use it prior to shampooing because it would be difficult to rinse out if you did not. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes while you soak in the tub; that works best.

This product works very well at detangling hair. Aroma isn't great, but isn't too offensive either. Wet hair, apply and then shampoo away. Really helpful in allowing you to comb through wet hair, especially long hair.

This is THE best hair care product I have ever used, and I've used too many to even remember. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and it has a tendency to break off and tangle. I also color my hair (I do touch-up's every 8 weeks), and this has contributed to the condition that it was in. I've currently stopped using heat appliances, except when I go out, and I use the Avocado Hair Butter 2-3 times a week (I leave it on my hair for about 30-60 minutes), and afterward my hair is left full, shiny, voluminous, de-tangled, incredibly healthy and amazingly sleek. I have never had a product that I just could not do without, but the Avocado Hair Butter is definitely one of them. I do find that I need much more than 1 tbsp. (which they recommend) to feel like my hair is getting enough of the product on it, so I end up using almost 1/4 of the tube each time I use it. I also use a dab of the product on my hair after towel drying and have found that this just increases the results.

What's not to love about this product...natural ingredients with proven results for the treatment of hair? Used according to the directions (completely wet hair and shampooing AFTER use, trick - emulsify the product in the hand prior to application), my clients hair is shiny, manageable, bouncy and ultimately treated with the use of this product. If you are accustomed to using cheap products (loaded with alcohol - a drying agent) then this natural product may not be for you. There is a difference between the appearance of treating your hair than using products with natural ingredients that inherently treat your hair. If your hair is in "good" condition or naturally oily, than obviously this product "may" not be ideal for you. This Burt's Bees product is meant for the treatment of hair. Unless you hair care treatments have received a patent for their actual "claims" than it is safe to say you are paying to actually damage your hair or give it the "temporary" appearance of healthy hair.

I like this product very much. I have very fine hair, so with this product being very thick I only use the conditioner on the ends, which is the only place that I really need it. It helps "restore" and smooth the dead ends in between haircuts. I also love the great scent. I would recommend this product to my friends and encourage whoever is reading this review to try it out.

I was a little hesitant to try this product after not liking the two Burt's Bees shampoo bars, which left my hair with a waxy residue no matter how much I rinsed. Some people seem to have had that experience with this product, but I have loved it and use it daily. I find I can use less than called for, use a wide-toothed comb to work it through my wet hair, wait until the end of the shower to wash thoroughly with a Tom's of Maine natural shampoo, rinse well & then torture my hair with a hot dryer for a long spell. Leaves my hair looking & feeling very healthy, not weighed down at all.

I'm a black woman who wears her hair in its natural state. This conditioner is THE BEST. My hair always feels better after I condition it with this product. Tip: the longer you leave it in, the more wonderful your hair will feel!!!

I've found it helpful to rub a good dab into the ends of my hair to protect them while I apply touch-up bleach to my roots. Then I treat myself to a deep conditioning treatment, and then I shampoo with the Rosemary Mint shampoo bar. This really soothes my scalp, which is prone to itching, flaking and breakouts. After, I use a dab of the Avocado Butter like I would a shine serum or hair balm (I wear my hair in a sort of short, tousled look). You do have to be open minded when you try it, and I think it works best in tandem with the Rosemary Mint Shampoo bar.
