This is a good hair conditioner. It's not a quick conditioner for multipurpose use; this is a hair mask. Avoid the top of your hair and leave in; shampoo out. It's a good conditioner, not for everyday use but nice as a treatment mask. This is really good for your ends; it will really heal and soothe them.

I couldn't wait to try this product because I love most of Burt's Bees stuff. It is expensive, and quite thick - my hair is medium length and you need a TON of it to even cover all your hair. It's so hard to finger through my hair because of how thick the product is, and the metal packaging actually ripped after a couple of weeks where I had rolled it up like a tube of toothpaste in an attempt to get out as much as I could. I didn't find that it wouldn't wash out of my hair, although I did find that it washed out better or worse depending on what shampoo I used. Weird. I didn't notice any difference when my hair dried - basically the same as if I hadn't used it at all. For the price, and the amount you have to use each time, I wouldn't recommend it.

Caution: This product is very average and expensive. Weighing down my fine curly hair and leaving it greasy and embarrassingly stringy. Had to rinse it out after the second use.

Heavy, gooey, and did absolutely nothing for my hair except weigh it down. I would not recommend this product to anybody with fine or long hair.

I apply this to the ends of my long, fine, thick curly hair in winter, and throughout in summer, and my hair simply drinks it up. I could probably apply the whole tube at once and it would be completely absorbed. Because of this, and the expense, I only use it about once a month, but it does soften it, detangle, and so on. It's good for any curly, dry, or coarse hair, especially if your hair is also long. Short, thin, straight hair would probably be too weighed-down.

I have very short hair, and use this as a styling product. It is absolutely terrific for this use! I can use it to style my hair, and it stays in all day and conditions while giving my hair body and hold. In my opinion, the smell is great, sort of a sweet herb smell, and I get to smell it all day long since I use it to style my hair. The consistency is similar to VO5 hairdressing. I will definitely buy more when the tube I have is empty!

My rating is based on use of the product as a conditioning treatment. Used this way, it's messy, hard to use, and very temporary in results. If it were marketed as a scalp or styling product, I might give it better marks. I don't have scalp problems, but I can understand how it would be wonderful for dry scalps because it is extremely thick, like a semisolid olive oil. As a styling product, it's okay, reasonably priced (because you use so little), something like an old-fashioned somewhat sticky hair creme but better smelling. Might be good for styling dry, frizzy hair.

Brace yourself- very gross. Bizarre consistency, and very hard to get through your hair. It's a little like trying to get thick, cold glue through your hair. They say to use like a dollop, but you need MUCH more than that. There is no lather, no anything. I couldn't tell a difference in my hair. I have 1/2 a tube left. Not sure if I'll ever use it again, which is disappointing because it's not cheap.

This is the best hair product I have ever used. I have thermally reconditioned hair, so I constantly need to deep condition my hair to keep it from drying out. After using this product once, even my dry ends felt extremely soft and hydrated. I've tried a lot of remedies, from hot oil treatments to actual avocado masks - but nothing has had such an instantaneous and extreme effect as this product. I actually had friends comment on how "refreshed" my hair looked after just one use.

I have shoulder length wavy hair that was frizzy until I used this product. Although the look and consistency is unusual, this stuff works.
