I used the scrub on my face and sometimes on my back in the shower. The scrub seemed too harsh for my face, but was great for my back. If I had any sores or pimples, the scrub would scrub them off, and I would have little bleeding spots after my shower. Also, about 30 minutes after my shower, I would have really oily skin again. I don't like products that leave my skin oily later.

This product makes your face feel really nice and soft and works well on blackheads. However, if you have regular acne, be careful. I used this product for 2 years. My skin always felt soft and my moderate acne did not get worse, but it did not get better, either. I read somewhere that using harsh scrubs can be bad for acne, even if your skin is not sensative. So, I stopped using this product and started a gentle cleanser. My acne has pretty much gone away completely after just a month of not using this product. I would recommend this product for use maybe once a week, and for some people it might be great for everyday. However, if you have been using it for a while and things have not improved, I suggest taking a break to see what might happen. It could solve your problems. Please don't let this review discourage you from trying this product. Everything works differently for different people.

If you have combination skin, I recommend putting this stuff all over, but then only really rubbing it in in the very oily, acne-prone areas. For example, my cheeks are fairly dry, but my chin and nose are extremely acne prone (still, at 32 years of age :(). So in the shower I put a thin film of this stuff all over my face (I only use a dab the size of a big pea) but then I rub it in at my trouble spots. This is the only stuff that has seemed to work for me. During the summer months when it is gross and humid outside, I use it before bed as well. I always notice when I don't use this stuff. It is totally worth the money. Thank goodness this product exists.

I have used this great product for several years and have loved it. I have recently determined that it's a bit too harsh for my 30-something skin. I think my skin has taken a lot of abuse with many different acne remedies... now, it's time for a calmer approach (I'm using Neutrogena now and my skin has calmed down). I still think this is a great product, though.

This is probably the least expensive facial scrub on the market, however it is the best....even after trying expensive department store brands, I definitley prefer this!

I just wanted to write a review, but this is one of my REGULARS already. I absolutely love and recommend this product, whether it's the medicated or the normal one, St. Ives Apricot Scrub is the best!! I have probably used this for 3 years already. I alternate between 2 cleaners, and this one is definitely always in my bathroom. I have combination skin that breaks out once in a while, so I do like using the medicated version just to prevent acne. It does a GREAT job in cleaning and taking out oils from the skin, and leaves it soft enough. The size of the scrub is good because it is also easy to wash off. Highly recommend!!

THIS product works, pretty much all of my blackheads have diminished to nothing, it's dried up almost all my pimples. I used the product in combination with Clearasil Vanishing Cream though, but I think the St. Ives did most of the work. I also take vitamin E pills and drink lots of water. Anyway, I had never had acne until this year, (I'm 20) and all of a sudden my face broke out really bad with blackheads, and this stuff is the only stuff that had any affect! I totally recommend it, and it's cheap!

I really love this stuff. I have a light skin color and I have always had a problem with acne. I use this twice a day, and use the Apricot Cleanser for oily/acne prone skin afterwards, and my skin has never been so clear. I follow with a moisturizer, and my skin stays so soft. I also keep a bottle of this in the shower...it works great as a body scrub. If your skin isn't sensitive (like mine), then you can use this every day without a problem, otherwise, just use it three times a week.

I have sensitive skin, so I only use this about 3-4 days a week because it has salicylic acid in it, which can be drying. I don't have acne but I do get dry, flaky skin on my forehead, and I also get blackheads on my nose. This scrub has made my dry skin vanish and has helped a lot with blackheads. My skin also feels extremely smooth! Yea, the smell isn't that great, but it's not horrible either.

St Ive's usually comes out with amazing products. Once again it has succeeded at it! This face wash DOES clear up acne, everyone noticed my face getting clearer. The only negative thing would have to the SMELL and the actual face wash itself. The smell (on a scale of 1-5) is a 2! The product itself is very thick and has little irritating dots. But other than that I would recommended this product to anyone with ACNE! It's NOT expensive and it REALLY WORKS!
