It doesn't really feel THAT harsh, but after you use it, it could seriously irritate your skin. Whenever I use it, my skin feels really nice and smooth the night I use it. Within next few days however, acne pops out everywhere. Now I'm a bit scared to use this product. SCRUBS AREN'T FOR EVERYONE.

I used this for a while, stopped, and then came back recently. For about a month and a half, I used it. It seems to make my acne prone face smoother, but then it's not. It also irritates my existing acne, and makes my face seem red after using it. It eventually goes away. Somehow I think this is just making my acne and red marks prolonged. I like how it kind of smooths my face out, but that's about it. I'm also using Neutrogena's face lotion with SPF and alpha hydroxy, and that's helping me stay clear of new acne. Still working on the red marks of older breakouts, though.

This is one of the best scrubs I have used, and I have tried VERY expensive scrubs. The only thing that I will warn others about is that you need to use a TONER after you use this scrub. Some of the shells or whatever in this scrub will stay on your face, even after you rinse several times.

The best scrub ever! I would highly recommend using this twice a week to bring back the glow to your skin. The only inconvenience is rinsing all of the grit completely from your face, but I follow with witch hazel, and it works great. This has helped my skin so much and I love the way my skin feels just after I use it. A great product!

This is the only scrub I use for my oily/acne-prone skin, and the price makes it even better. On days when my skin is a bit more inflamed (when my period starts), it can feel a bit rough, but I always leave my regular cleanser on my face before applying the scrub. It acts as a buffer. This scrub makes my skin feels soft and smooth. I will use it on my chest, back, elbows, and hands too for extra softness and smoothness in those areas.

I've had acne for as long as I can remember (I started breaking out in third grade). This really helps me! It makes my skin nice and smooth, and I definitely enjoy using it. It does feel a bit harsh sometimes, but it always washes off well and I've never really done any damage. This is one of my favorite products, and the price is great, too.

This is the best value ever. My skin breaks out the moment I stop using this product. I always come back to it.

I love this product. Normally, I will try new brands when I run out of one, but this is one of the few products I buy over and over. I normally use it about twice a week and follow with a mild cleaner and lotion. I have found if I don't moisturize right after, my skin can be tight - but nothing that I have found beats the soft skin this product gives me!

Being an acne victim, i decided to give this medicated scrub a try to banish those pimples. Unfortunately, after a few days of use, my acne just erupted all over my face, including those stubborn cystic bumps. The minute I stopped using it my face got better. However, being in the St Ives family, it did smooth and brighten my face. My verdict is a 2 since it bring glow to my face, but it didn't live up to its purpose for those acne sufferers. I would say give this a try for the most part, but that acne won't be vanishing anytime soon. I am going to give the original invigorating scrub a try. Other than that, not that pleased.

I have been using this stuff for years, and I don't go a day without it. I have noticed that if I don't use it for a few days I start getting random breakouts. I'll use this forever, it is the best product and VERY reasonably priced!
