This shampoo seems to keep my psoriasis somewhat under control...however I still have drying/flaking and itching...just not as bad. I like that it doesn't have a strong odor...actually doesn't have any odor at all. I don't like that I have to use a seperate conditioner with this which defeats the point of buying a 'shampoo plus conditioner"

I have tried many anti-PS shampoos and I none of them worked for me. I read the reviews and I thought, OK, maybe this one will do the trick... and it did not.

Used this as recommended and really worked it into my scalp, left it sitting and all that, but this stuff just didn't fix or even relieve my psoriasis. I think this causes redness because the Salicylic Acid in it breaks apart and removes flakes, which leaves you with exposed redness, at least until you develop more flakes on that redness due to your hyperactive immune system. So it just didn't work very well for me because it further dried out my scalp. I've tried every shampoo there is for this problem, and I'm currently on day 2 of no shampoo at all, just rinsing with water. So I feel really greasy and my hair is all flat, but hopefully my scalp will go back to normal once it regulates itself again. It's worth a shot. Or maybe I'll just get a short haircut and wear a hat all the time. This problem is so frustrating. Anyway, I personally think this product was a waste of money, and I don't plan to buy it again. If this no-shampoo test works, I'm just going to get a hydrating shampoo and use it no more than 1-2 times per week.

I have scalp psoriasis and after trying everything out there, Nizoral shampoo worked for me. However, Nizoral stopped working after almost a year. I was left again trying to find something and found this. I was really hopeful, but it just didn't work for me. I used it 2 times a week and kept it on my scalp for a few minutes each time. I liked the fact that there was no harsh smell and it didn't change my hair's texture. Unfortunately, my scalp psoriasis just doesn't respond to this shampoo. In fact, it made my condition worse and my scalp red, scaly and itchy. My quest continues.

Each psoriasis shampoo contains a different ingredient. Some people respond better to certain ingredients than others. This shampoo didn't work very well for me. It was able to keep my psoriasis from being super bad but I still had many itchy patches of flaking skin around my hairline. I would wash with my regular shampoo first to get rid of oils and then use this shampoo and leave in for 5 minutes. I suppose it works for some but it isn't a cure all for everyone. I find that Selsun 2.5% works wonders for me. I had to stop using it while pregnant and breastfeeding so that's why I turned to Dermarest. I'll be happy when I can use Selsun again.

My daughter had HORRIBLE dandruff! We had gone to the dermatolgist three times and each $50 perscription did nothing. This product is like magic! I cannot say enough about how it cured her!

The product does everything it claims to. My only problems are: my hair needs washing more often than with regular shampoo; and I need to use a detangler in addition to the conditioner within the shampoo.

I would like to address the doubting reviews with a possible explanation. A professional shampoo includes two washes-one to wash off the surface oil and dirt and one following to cleanse the scalp. If this product did not work, it may be that it was used for only a surface wash and never got to its intended destination. Personally, i use a good everyday shampoo and briefly wash my hair, avoiding my scalp, rinse, then apply the Dermarest shampoo to my scalp, massaging it thoroughly (NO FINGERNAILS) and let it sit for 5 minutes before rinse. This shampoo has worked fabulously for my psoriasis when nothing else has, and that without damaging my already dry hair or smelling like burning paper pulp. The effect even lasts two days if i have shampooed properly, more if i take the time to daily apply a direct scalp treatment between shampoos. I highly recommend this to someone with a stubborn, scaly, itchy scalp problem.
