I remember this from the 80s, when it used to come in a shampoo, conditioner and finishing rinse. The formula is completely different. The shampoo used to be clear, it's now been updated to be a conditioning shampoo, with silicones. However, even paired with the conditioner, it leaves my hair very dry. Also, they did even not come close to the original scent. It used to have a sweet among scent. Now it smells like cherry cough syrup. I contacted Vidal Sassoon to inquire about this, and they admitted it may not be the same scent. They really missed a great opportunity to bring back a piece of nostalgia, this stuff is terrible :(
I was attracted to this by the new scent, however it was by far the worst shampoo I've ever used. It left my hair very soft, without any volume, no body, no shine! I've never had a shampoo react like this one did. My hair is fine and tends to be oily, BTW. I blow dried my hair, used product, but it did no good. I asked another family member if they wanted to try it. Their hair is much thicker than mine and dry. They had the same result, AWFUL! Needless to say, we redid our hair and trashed this.
