by SB[Verified Buyer] in Minneapolis on 3/1/09
Pros: Effective Protection, Non-comedogenic, Not Greasy, UVA/UVB Protection
Cons: Whitish residue remains
Best Uses: Beach, Daily Use, Sports, Swimming
Bottom Line: recommended
Good for kids who can't see that their skin is still white after rubbing it in. A very good sunscreen and probably safer than most. But hard for adults to get used to with the white stuff remaining on their skin all day. At the end of the day I found white residue still on my neck!

Bought this for our trip last week to Florida and was very pleased. I have a 3 year old and an 18 month old and wanted a sunscreen without dangerous chemicals but one that was strong enough to protect their super-fair skin (after being inside in cold NYC all winter) from the FL sun. I was a little concerned from some of the reviews that it would be pasty thick, but it was creamy and flowed out easily. You have to rub a little more than with chemical sunscreens but the difference isn't at all dramatic and what wouldn't you do for your kids to be safe? We swam a ton and it stayed on. I'm proud to say my kids are as pale as they were when we left! :) One piece of advice - put it on before you dress your kids. It does look pearly white on clothes or rashers or bathing suits.

we try to save money where we can, but certain products need to be invested properly in.suncreen is one of them.i feel this is a great, safe product for my young son.it protects him well and i dont worry he will burn.unfortunately its pricey, so watch for it to go on sale [...].tends to be a bit hard to rub in, but thats not a big concern for us.we just want our sons skin to be healthy and safe.

Although targeted to kids, I use this myself because I have sensitive skin. I works perfectly, stays on after swimming, and causes no irritation. My friend who is normally allergic to sun screen tried it, and said it had no adverse affects on her either. Perfect sun screen, and worth every penny.

This is the only sunscreen we could use on our kids that didn't make them break out or burn. We have used it for years.(Kids are now in college). We can't find a sunblock that is any better. It is hard to rub in, and stays white for a while, but we wouldn't use anything else. The whole family uses it. Also it doesn't have oxybenzone(chemical). Best stuff on the market.

Cons: Greasy or Heavy

Best Uses: Beach, Sports, Swimming

So, it's a bit thick and has that white-ish tinge to it. Rub it in your palms and then into skin and you're good. It's thick because it's a physical sunblock, no chemicals absorbed into your skin. (Yay!) I've shared this with a friend who seems to have the most sensitive, fussiest skin around and even she swears by it now. Only 4 stars because it is a bit hard to put on, but that's why it works!

If you are looking for nanoparticle free and chemical free, waterproof, and hypoallergenic this is the sunscreen for you. Many other sunscreens use nanotechnology to make the particles so small that they don't look white on your skin. This one looks a little white and takes time to rub in, but it is worth it because of safety for you or your child. It is also very waterproof. Good for kids with eczema or allergy-prone skin. Didn't burn my daughter like many other products.

A lot of people have commented that this product is "hard to rub in". True, it is, but that's why it's appropriate for babies less than 6 months while no other sunscreen is. It sits on top of the skin and serves as a kind of "barrier" between the baby's skin and the sun. When your child is under six months, you should avoid the sun, and if you aren't able you should use this kind of sunscreen, not one of the chemical ones (like waterbabies etc). We live in Florida and it's hard to avoid the sun so we have used this product and it has done the trick! When our son reaches six months we might switch, however this product is great for infants.
