I searched for years for a sunscreen that didn't make my skin break out in little blisters. This one is it. Yes, it does leave a white residue. Titanium dioxide, the active ingredient, is a pigment used in paints. In this product, it reflects the sun away from the skin. I consider the white sheen on the skin while it's in use for a negligible price to pay for skin that's not burned or broken out in allergic blisters. I'm quite light-skinned, so even though I can see the sheen on my skin, it doesn't really bother me. Love the stuff!

This product is by far the worst sunscreen I've ever used. It leaves white residue and does not "vanish" into your skin. I'm assuming that Neutrogena thinks that sensitive skin equals pale skin. The lotion is very white, and turns my medium skin tone into a white/pinkish color. You have to rub it in for it to remotely blend into your skin color. It deserves two stars only because it's not greasy.

I love this product. My skin breaks out from all other sunscreens. This product really works and protects your skin without getting into pores! I have found that you need to put the product on 1/2 an hour before getting into sun and I always re-apply throughout my time in the sun, as you should with any sunscreen.

I don't often write reviews, but I've been using this product for 3 years and I love it-- it does leave a whiteish tinge, but it goes away after a few minutes on and it leaves my skin feeling great, not to mention it is a great sunblock.

I guess our skins are all different. The whiteness is due to an extremely effective ingedient. On my skin, the initial whiteness soon soaks in, and I'm set for a day in the sun and my eyes don't sting! The only other product I have found that works this well is waaaaay too expensive.

Surprisingly thick and white (they should say this on the label). It does not "Vanish on the skin". Took some time to work in. Resulted in a mild burning sensation on my face and arms (very strange). Stopped using after one application. Eucerin Daily Sun Defense was my favorite, but they stopped making it.

I've tried this on my face. My skin type is normal, but at the end of the day, I look like I have greasy/oily skin. It also leaves a white cast on my medium skin tone. If you sweat, you'll have white streaks running down your face. Wearing powder makeup may help, but you have to get a lighter color than your skin tone because the powder darkens. It still left me with a shiny face. It is inexpensive, so it's probably best for your body.

This product makes an excellent makeup. It covers small discolorations and skin flaws. It will not block your pores and cause breakouts. For everyday use this is perfect. If swimming, another waterproof suncreen should be used.
