Oour certified organic West African shea butter is sourced from a project that helps protect a hippo sanctuary on the Black Volta River.  A portion of sales of the butter supports the sanctuary and a premium is given to the women who produce the butter.  Our certified organic Ugandan shea butter is sourced from women's cooperative.  Many of the women are survivors of captivity and tourture by the Ugandan rebel army.
