Received this product for free to test out and review. So happy I was able to try it out because now I know how wonderful this Vicks thermometer is. It is easy, family friendly and perfect for use with my toddler. Love that it stores my information and that its used via Bluetooth.

A smartphone (either iPhone or Android) is required to read the temperatures displayed by this thermometer, since there is no temperature display on the body of the thermometer itself. I downloaded the required App – Vicks SmartTemp – to my Samsung Galaxy S4 and was then able to capture readings in the App on the screen of my phone. The readings are sent wirelessly from the thermometer through Bluetooth. I tested the device for accuracy by comparing the Vicks thermometer readings with those on an old fashioned analogue thermometer and this Vicks device's readings do appear to be accurate. Also, the readings displayed very quickly, in a matter of a few seconds after inserting the thermometer in my mouth.

The App keeps a history of temperature readings, so if a family member is ill, the App will provide a quick reference to the history a fever. My only reservation about this product is that you must have a compatible smartphone to discover a temperature reading. While the App provides useful information, I would have preferred having a simultaneous temperature display on the thermometer or having the temp displayed on the thermometer alone if I decided that I did not want to find and fool around with my phone.
The bottom line is that this is an accurate thermometer that will track temperature readings for you and your family members, but it lacks a degree of flexibility since you must use a smartphone to get temp readings. Received this product for free to test.

I'm glad I got this free to try and review. It's amazingly easy to set up and use. You just download the app, add your info, and you're good to go! Once you're all set up, all you have to do is open the app (make sure your Bluetooth is on) and turn on your thermometer and take a temp. My son actually got sick not long after I received this and it came in so handy to track his fever and his medicine. I couldn't recommend this more highly.

I love this product. When I first used it, I compared temperatures with other thermometers to make sure it gave accurate reads and it succeeded each time. I love the size of the device. I think it's really cool that you can record temperatures of each family member. I also love how quickly it gives the results, because with little ones, it's not always easy to get them to hold still for long. The only thing I would recommend changing about this product is that there is no temp read directly on the device. It would be nice to have a small digital read as well, for instances when you cannot access the app.

I received the Vicks Smarttemp Thermometer complimentary for testing purposes and it came right on time! Both my children ages two and 9 months both came down with ear infections and this thermometer made checking their temperatures so much easier. l love that the app tracks their temperatures and it so easily accessible. It was quick to read their temperatures which was great for them. They typically don't like to sit for very long and hate the regular thermometers. The Vicks Smarttemp though, is great and they did not throw one fit!

The thermometer had an accurate reading most of the time, I did have a back up thermometer to compare. The App has some nice features and was easy to use. You can create separate profiles for different family members, and it will track and graph historical temperatures for each. I love that everything is right at my fingertips when I need to go to the doctors. No more writing things down or trying to remember the temperatures. The one thing I don't like is that there's no temp display on the unit itself. In order to see what the temperature reading is, the thermometer must be paired via Bluetooth with your smart device with the SmartTemp app installed. Really smart product, so glad that I got to try this product for free.

Late October, I received a FREE Vicks SmartTemp Thermometer to sample, test, and review. Upon opening my package, I immediately thought "Uh-Oh"! as I read the detailed product description and actually became a little nervous about the being able to use it successfully. Why? Because I am simply not Tech Savvy and the Vicks SmartTemp required me to connect the device with my phone and use the of the Bluetooth enabled Vicks SmartTemp app. Yep, you heard me correctly.. the Vicks SmartTemp Thermometer has Bluetooth capabilities and is able to take and track your children's temperature readouts, symptoms, and given medications ON YOUR PHONE and to keep things simple once you are in the app, you can create a Profile for each family member. Luckily, I was able to sync my phone easily. As I'd been sick a few days myself, I practiced with the device myself. I loved the easy to read and easy to understand color codes for the recorded temps - Red was BAD (above normal range), Green was Good (within normal range); but I did not like that the thermometer itself did not show the temp read out. YOU HAVE TO BE CONNECTED TO USE AND GET READINGS FROM The ‪#‎VICKSSMARTTEMP‬ THERMOMETER! I received this product free to test and review. I loved the idea of it and was so excited for it to arrive. When we first tried it, however, I was disappointed to see that it read my temperature at 96 degrees (way below normal). I thought it was a fluke and tested several more times, waiting 10 minutes between readings, while my temperature fluctuated between 96 and 99 degrees. I'm not sure what caused this discrepancy, but it made me question whether or not it was reliable enough to count on when my children are sick. If it worked properly, I would definitely recommend based solely on the design and accessibility through the app.

I received this free for testing purposes and I think this is a solid product. The app is super easy to use. My 12 month old had raging temps last week and this helped keep me organized and on top of the temperatures.
