After years of going through one cheap drugstore comb after another, I finally found a comb I can love! I have medium-thick hair, long, and slightly wavy. My biggest issue with cheaper combs was the lack of polishing, or the rough edges that remained after molding the comb. The Mason Pearson comb has no rough edges along or within the teeth of the comb, nor on the handle. I'm gentle on my belongings, so I've managed to get 10 years worth of daily use out of my comb, and I routinely give Mason Pearson combs and brushes as practical gifts to my friends who care deeply for their hair.

I ordered this comb with hesitation, not because of the price so much as the spacing of the comb, even though it was listed as a 'detangler.' I needed to replace a drugstore-bought comb i'd had for awhile that was wide-spaced and which I used to comb out my hair after showering when applying product. (For those of you with curly hair that frizzes, don't brush! Use a comb, like this one, with product, and air dry. best way to avoid frizz.) This does catch on tangles but quickly dispatches them and I enjoy the fact that I get a much better combing than a wider-spaced one. It is light, travels well, and attractice.

This much for a comb??? Well worth the price - it is smooth, snag free and the way it is contoured makes it really easy to use without pulling - even on wet hair! It has a solid, quality feel unlike any comb you can buy in the drugstore or beauty supply.

I have thin, fine hair that is very well cared for and I only use the best hair products. This comb did nothing but rip my hair out! I use a Goody drugstore comb that only costs a few dollars and it does a great job. I am so sorry that I spent so much money on something I can't even give away!

I have very thick hair and this comb does the trick! It detangles my wet hair effortlessly. There are no snags and no pulling with this comb. Best detangling comb I have ever used!

I bought this comb 8 years ago, long before I discovered Beauty.com. I am actually back to purchase the Mason Pearson brush. I have super fine hair that gets tangled with pretty much everything I do. Washing my hair would be a nightmare, because not only is my hair tangled, but if i leave my hair to dry before I brush, my hair although combed through would be left with crimps and kinks. So I basically needed a detangling comb that I can run through my hair after I shower. I was also looking for something that would be gentle enough as to not break my fine hair, another difficult task. This did it! Although you do have to gentle when combing through wet hair with no matter what comb you use, I believe Mason Pearson is the best choice because I can tell that the individual teeth are polished to where they glide so easily. I know this is no comparison, but I once had to use a drugstore brand comb and I could feel the friction with each stroke. YUCK! Another remarkable thing about this comb is that it is soooo durable. I have had it for 8 years, throughout my undergraduate years and into my the first part of my career. And for those 8 years I have travelled out of town every week. (Seriously! It sucks!) I toss my comb in with all my toilettries and luggage, allowing it to get knocked around and about, but its still just as good as the day i received it.

This much for a comb? I was dubious, even having had great experiences with Mason Pearson brushes. It really is worth it. It really is that much better than your standard drugstore comb. I'm back to buy a second one.

I have very long thick wavy hair and this comb glides through my wet hair like I never thought possible. I also began to use KMS Moist Repair (also purchased from beauty.com). It is a leave in conditioner/detangler that works!!! I spray in on my hair in the shower after shampooing. I have tried many products... these actually work!

I desperately wanted this comb to work for my 3-year-old daughter. She has extremely fine hair that tangles instantly in wind and/or water. It's a daily nightmare (for both of us) to comb. Unfortunately, this extremely expensive comb was not the solution for us.
