I've used Paul Mitchell's firm control hair spray before. It's has a wonderful smell and holds great with an incredibly soft to the touch finish. This is not the same product. When it states "freeze" it means just this. Your hair will hold if a piano falls on you. Not my type of product.

I actually got this by mistake - thought I was ordering just a hair spray - it's really great! I have short, spiky hair, and it really holds and I'm able to put my "spikes" exactly where I want.

It works very well for me.......hair is shiny, not sticky....I like it very much.....

Paul Mitchell is one of the only hair sprays that keeps my curly/frizzy hair shiny and healthy looking.

This spray provides great hold, while adding minimal stiffness and dryness to my hair. I spray after using a styling wax and my hair always looks great.

I have very fine hair, I use this for styling (on damp hair while blow drying) but I do "finish" with an aerosol-type hairspray because these "pump" style products fall to heavily on my baby fine hair.

It's also great for "plastering" more "severe" updos, chignons, etc where once you have "every hair in place" you don't want to bother with it again until you take it down. You have to spray it much more heavily than the light amount I use for blow drying but it's still great for that purpose

Smells bad? Whenever I use this product, every guy that has ever hugged me, has never failed to make a comment about how good I smell (I wear no perfume). This is the best hairspray I have ever used. It holds, even through the next day if I don't wash my hair. I use very little, too. Hair does not feel sprayed. Highly recommend.
