Cons: Doesn't Remove Makeup, Irritates Skin
Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer
Bottom Line: not recommended
This cleanser doesn't remove makeup - and we're talking about a little bit of tinted moisturizer and bronzer.Plus,it turned my beautiful, clear ,but oily skin into red mess with breakouts - and I'm not even sensitive.Going back to Avene.

Pros: Balances Skin, Improves Skin Texture, Leaves Clean Feel
Cons: Doesn't Remove Makeup
Describe Yourself: Brand Buyer
Best Uses: Combination Skin, Oily Skin
Bottom Line: recommended
My dermatologist recommended this product to me over a year ago. Since I was in the office already and I wanted to try something new, I plunked down the money for this face wash. I am glad I did. The one bottle lasted a really long time---you only need a dime sized amount each day--and cleared my combination skin very well. It cleans and removes oil and makes skin feel fresh and clear but not overdried or tight and zapped like cheaper acne products can. I usually follow with a toner and a light spf for day and my combination skin feels smooth and normal for the day! I see this as a great product for more mature skin; I am in my late twenties and those cheaper acne cleansers and even Pro-Activ just don't cut it or they over-dry. This is a good part of an break-out preventing and skin-smoothing routine; I won't go back to other cleansers now! It works especially well with the companion products-- night cream and spf daiy creams by MD Forte. If you can afford to by those, by all means, I recommend doing so (my initial purchase at the Dermatologists office included a glycolic care cream and a really amazing spf day cream, both my MD Forte). I squeezed every last drop out of that first bottle, and then, because of the price, put off buying more. I probably spent the same amount by buying and using other types of acne cleansers---and none of them worked as well! I am super pleased with this product. Buying generic is fine for toothpaste or laundry detergent, but when it comes to your skin (and something works this well), its worth the price!

Pros: Clean Feel, Gentle, Refreshing
Cons: Ineffective
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Best Uses: Daily Use
Bottom Line: recommended
I think that all the positive reviews on this site are warranted, but I just want to offer a more balanced view, because while this is a great cleanser, it's not going to fix all your skin problems like these reviews might lead you to believe. I'm 25, I have mild acne and oily skin. I was really hoping that a good glycolic cleanser would help to clear my skin up. On the one hand, I think this is the best thing I have ever used on my face. It removes dirt and oil without drying out your skin. If you buy soap from the local drugstore, they are usually too harsh or they are so gentle that they leave all the oil behind. This cleanser leaves your skin feeling soft and clean, not dry or greasy. But on the other hand, it did absolutely nothing for the acne I have. I still have large pores, redness, an uneven tone, and I still get one or two large pimples a week, which is what my complexion has looked like since I was about 12 years old. So! I recommend this cleanser, I think pretty much everyone who tries it ends up liking it and buying more, but personally it didn't really change my skin. And although the price might seem high for a cleanser, the bottle is pretty large and it lasts for 3-4 months, so I think it's a fair price too.

I am an Esthetician and this is my favorite cleanser to use. When I experience breakouts, oily skin or I notice an increase in comedones, this cleanser always clears my skin up immediately. It's not harsh and doesn't have an unpleasant smell. I would definitely recommend this cleanser to any of my clients with oily, acneic skin. A++

Warning to all rosacea sufferers - this product will cause you to break out immediately. I have rosacea and I ran out of my prescription cleanser so I thought I would try this until I saw my Doctor again. After reading all of the glowing reviews, I thought I would give it a try. Before using this product, my face was completely blemish-free. After two uses of this product I had four sores on my face the next day. I learned my lesson about reading labels - do not believe the advertising. This product contains Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate which is one of the worst things you can use on your face. And, the alcohols add irritation to the list as well. This is one more in a long line of beauty products using cheap ingredients, making false claims and stealing our money.

I replaced my cleanser with this a month ago and can already see visible improvement. I'm 34 with normal skin, but my problem is severely clogged pores on forehead and cheeks, with monthly acne. I've been attempting to control this problem for about 5 years, trying just about everything I could get my hands on. With only one month of use I've noted my acne wasn't as pronounced this month, my skin is clearer (the clogged pores are getting unclogged), it's brighter and feels softer. I do my entire ritual every morning and evening (cleanser, toner then moisturizer). I noticed that after washing with this, the toner removes more dirt from my face than it used to. I've changed nothing else in my habits or diet and all other products I use are the same, so I'm quite certain the results are due to this product. It was the price that scared me away at first, but 8 ounces lasts quite a while because a little goes a long way. I highly recommend for those that have tried everything else.

I have struggled with my skin since my teen years. It cleared up some in my mid-twenties but would I would still get cystic acne during that time of the month and no cleanser or acne treatment would help. Until now. This cleanser is amazing. It keeps my skin perfectly clear, I now get compliments on what great skin I have which is one compliment I never thought I would hear. It also does not dry out my skin, though I do only wash with it every other day usually in the shower or if I have used sunscreen or make up I will use it. Even during that time of the month. I do get the occasional pimple but no more breakouts. I have tried other cleansers to save money but my skin always suffers and I start to break out again. So it is worth every penny for me! Buy it, you will not regret it!

This is a great product. I started using it a few years ago at the recommendation of a dermatologist. Recently, I have tried other products and found that my skin suffered. This is a great product, and so I am returning to it.
