My skin reacts to everything it touches, it seems, and many of the things I eat, and keeping it in shape can be a nightmare. This product does nothing but soothe and never causes a reaction. I use the Ultimate version at night, especially in the winter. When it's really dry and cold and we are using our woodstove, I often use the Ultimate version 24 hours. In the summer if it's really hot, just the daily moisturizer can be fine for night, too. I keep back-up jars of both the Daily and the Ultimate. There's overlap in the ingredient lists, but overall the new is pretty different from the old, and it's noticeable in the actual product. The new one doesn't vanish into skin the same way and, worse, burns a little as I apply. I'm pretty sad because it took me forever (and lots of expensive trial and error) to find this moisturizer originally. I have dry skin and I am picky about what I put on my face. It's hypoallergenic which you can't find. It's everything I was looking for and works perfectly. I also use Avalon's "Lift" line (the toner, eye cream, and serum). The Avalon Organic's Day Cream works incredibly great as well (even under makeup.) I was skeptical at first because I read reviews that said the formula changed and it wasn't as good. I'm not sure how it was before but I do love it now. I will continue to use it for sure!

I recently returned to the Avalon lavender line after being away from it awhile. I still like the cleanser and the daily moisturizer with SPF, but this product was changed drastically. It is now called Lavender Luminosity Ultimate Night Cream, and I don't like its texture nor see any results. It feels dry and thick, seems to pull on my skin just to apply it. Unpleasant to apply, doesn't seem to sink in well. I see no change in my skin and am baffled at the good reviews it gets.

It works well under makeup too (all day long, I tell you!). For me, alone it is not quite moisturizing enough. I do have very dry skin though. Since I've added the lavender night cream this hasn't been such an issue. I'm on my second jar of this stuff now and will purchase again. As a result of using this, the lavender cleansing milk, and the lavender night cream, my skin looks and feels better than it has in years. I highly recommend.

The picture shown is not the product that will be shipped to you, which has some New Luminosity or something like that on the label...and it does not work like the former product at all. I used the previous formula for years and it was my only moisturizer. This one is a terrible disappointment as it does not absorb and actually hurts my face.
