Used this at a friend's house and loved it so much bought it for my husband and myself. Love the smell and the product

I have used this product for years, along with the matching conditioner, and frequently get compliments on how shiny my hair is. I have a fairly oily scalp, and find that this product gets my hair very clean without drying it out.

I really love this shampoo and matching conditioner. I'm not really sure why the negative reviews unless maybe they changed the formula since those? I am very picky about shampoo- and I've used them all including most salon brands. I was looking for something that didn't have the cloying, heavy perfumed fruity or floral fragrance that they all seem to. I thought this smelled light when used and performed great. It got my hair very clean but left it soft, not stripped at all, and my hair was very bouncy and shiny. After more use, it has kept my hair moisturized without being oily or heavy. I'm so impressed! I'm buying more now, and I'm rarely happy enough with a brand to stick with it. Really recommend this.

I've tried many organic shampoos on the market (BWC, Kiss My Face, Alba, Giovanni, Burt's Bees) and none of them work as good as Avalon. I have pretty thin, wavy hair which I blow dry and flat iron every day and this shampoo has kept it shiny and moisturized. It lathers well and rinses clean. I'm so happy to have finally found organic products that actually WORK!

I was so excited to find this shampoo and thought it would be great, but I really am not a fan. I too got the white creamy substance under my nails when lathered with this shampoo. Plus, it appeared to make my hair oily near the roots and quite dry at the ends. I think it was the wrong formula for me - I have an oily scalp with long wavy hair.

We use this shampoo daily.It doesn't take out your natural oils,and is safe ! It's organic and wonderful. My husband had very oily hair,& washed it sometimes twice a day.Since we started using organic (Avalon)he can now rest asured NO oily residue,& only needs to wash every other day now. Thanks what a great product.We h-i-g-h-l-y recommend this shampoo to everyone.

The lavender smell was MUCH to strong and made my hair (which is normally soft) feel like straw.

This shampoo is the worst shampoo I've ever used. I find even Suave to be better than this. I've been using it every other day for two months. Even though the first time I used it, my hair was a tangled mess, I kept using it because of the wonderful smell. Unfortunately, my hair kept breaking because it became so dull and brittle. Today I switched to pantene and there is a HUGE difference in my hair. Yeah, I want to go organic, but I don't want to go bald! DO NOT BUY THIS.

I found that this product, along with the conditioner just didn't work for my fine hair. [...] I've been using it for about 3 weeks and it leaves my fine hair a tangled mess. Smells great, but I'm giving it to my husband and looking for something else.

I have been using this brand shampoo for a while now (maybe 2 years), and only recently have I discovered something odd while I was shampooing. I still don't know if this is normal for all shampoos, but I doubt it. While I lather my hair with this particular shampoo, when I scratch my hair I get all this white creaminess in my nails, as if I applied cream on my scalp. It is almost solidified in my nails and I need to wash them out directly with a full force of shower stream. I wonder if it is because my product is expired, which shouldn't be since I ordered it here and used it right away.
