It took me quite awhile to figure out why my hands were always so dry these past 10 years. Doctors thought I was simply over-washing them and gave me grief over that. Finally, I figured the dryness started when liquid soaps became so widespread. I now know that most contain formaldehyde-releasing chemicals (e.g., DMDM Hydantoin, etc); formaldehyde is a suspected human carcinogen and a known allergen to me. This AVALON soap is not only free of formaldehyde-based toxins, but is also paraben-free. My hands are now normal again! I love this soap. In fact, it cleans and suds so well that I also use it in my toddler's bath. I keep a travel-size container filled with it in my purse, too. Great product and so worth any additional cost!

Great soap; bad pump. Smells good; lemon scented version does not give me a rash, don't know about other scents. But until they fix the problem with the pump (it leaks at the neck sending soap slowly cascading down bottle until eventually you get a stick gooey, lumpy, ugly mess)I'll use other brands. Doesn't happen with pump for Avalon body lotion, just this soap. Too bad, good stuff. Wrote twice to company, no response. Has happened with more than 6 bottles.

All in all, great product for kitchen use. Just had an issue turning the pump on, therefore, I switched it with my previous Avalon Organics handsoap dispenser.

I'd always buy bargain brand, anti-bacterial cleansers ... usually industrial sized and re-fill small pumps as needed. UNTIL THE AVALON LAVENDER! It's worth every penny. Skin feels great, scent is lovely, and a bottle lasts a long time. I have even had guests (I'm serious) comment on it. That has NEVER happened! Spoil yourself. If you try it, you won't regret it.

I bought a small sample of the peppermint body wash and loved the product. I searched online and found the whole line of products at Drugstore.com. I was thrilled to fine the shampoo, conditioner, and lotions. I highly recommend all of the Avalon Organics products.

I've used this product for years, but the last two bottles leaked, the scent was odd and the new formulas seems greasy. I'll switch to another product.

By far my favorite "all the time" hand soap. I am a frequent hand-washer, and this does not dry out my skin. Rather, you can feel its true moisturizing abilities, which is rare in a hand soap. I love the scent and use of organic ingredients and essential oils; its not contrived or commercially floral, just natural with a genuine lavender aroma. My *only* complaint is the pump! It is positively horrible. Even when screwed on tightly and properly twisted to 'Open' it leaks badly, and therefore wastes product by dripping large quantities of soap down the side and back of the bottle. If not rinsed after each use, it builds up in thick, sticky globs around the cap and down the whole bottle. (My bottle has never been dropped, doesn't have any noticeable cracks, etc. It functioned this way from initial opening). I still use the product because I like it, but I do feel like I'm being wasteful when half of it goes into my hand and half of it goes down the side because of the lousy dispenser.
