I have discarded enema bags more than once, thinking I could do without them. However, the need for one always eventually returns. Fiber laxatives have never been fully effective or dependable. Stool softeners work better, but there always comes a time when an enema is needed. Several years ago, a doctor told me it was all right to take enemas, cautioning me not to use soap. This was in connection with a painful hemorrhoid problem. She also suggested trying Fleet saline and oil enemas, as well as glycerin suppositories. The saline irritated the hemorrhoid tissue, and the oil was very unpleasant. Glycerin suppositories were helpful. With the use of Preparation H or other medications over a period of several weeks, the hemorrhoid symptoms would subside, but they would return if I had to strain to have a difficult bowel movement. The healing would again take several weeks. I now realize that having an enema bag in case of an emergency is a necessity for me. The Goodhealth Faultless is a good choice. For me, a full bag of plain water at a measured temperature between 103 and 104 degrees F works consistently well, and the experience is not unpleasant. I use an inexpensive waterproof digital clinical thermometer for accuracy, resetting it whenever the water temperature needs to be lowered. I prefer Vaseline as a lubricant , although I am aware that KY Jelly is now recommended. I feel like a new person after the procedure is completed. I now go for long periods of time without recurrence of hemorrhoid problems. The fact that the Goodhealth system contains no latex is an advantage. Those made of rubber can have a strong odor when wet and while drying, not to mention the possibility of latex allergy. For lesser problems, I occasionally use the new model Goodhealth 8 ounce syringe (lubricated with KY Jelly) or glycerin suppositories in order not to take too many large enemas. The Goodhealth system, used as a hot water bottle, is also very useful for keeping warm in bed during chilly weather and for soothing aches and pains. The only downside to the Goodhealth system is the possibility of leaks when the pipe is connected to the pipe adapter. This doesn't usually happen if the pipe is sufficiently tightened before use. As someone suggested for a similar product, a washer might help. In an emergency, one could remove the pipe adapter and thread the pipe directly into the tube as was done on older, cheaper units years ago. All in all, I highly recommend non-latex systems such as the Goodhealth one for enema and hot water bottle use. I just purchased an extra system, mainly for use as a hot water bottle. Drugstore.com is good about delivering personal items courteously, promptly, and without embarrassment. The customer reviews help one to know that one is not the only man using such products. VS Most Liked Negative Review Works ok for an enema I bought this for enemas for constipation, and I've used it twice now in about 2 months. Comments about Goodhealth Faultless Premium Combination Douche, Enema & Water Bottle System, 2 Qt Capacity, 1 ea: I bought this product to relieve constipation from narcotic pain meds that I take daily to alleviate pain from a spinal tumor. The initial quality seemed good, the hose tends to kink and the valve on the hose doesn't completely stop the flow. The bag can be a bit hard to clean if you use any additives. After a month and only 3 uses the inside treads on water bottle cracked. The small crack spread all the way inside the bottle and it began to leak significantly. I have ordered a different unit to replace it. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful? Comments about Goodhealth Faultless Premium Combination Douche, Enema & Water Bottle System, 2 Qt Capacity, 1 ea: The tubing is still and not flexible. A softer material like neoprene or lab tubing could be used that would make this item first rate. I will not buy it again.

Comments about Goodhealth Faultless Premium Combination Douche, Enema & Water Bottle System, 2 Qt Capacity, 1 ea: I use this syringe for a soapsuds enema for occasional constipation. These enemas work much better than the Fleet type. This was a replacement for an open top enema bag I had. This closed top type is more difficult to use and the fittings have a tendency once in awhile to unscrew. But overall it's an OK product and is a simple and effective way to handle the occasional constipation. Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Was this review helpful?
