I received a sample of this lip balm when I bought a regular tube of Blistex. I tried it, and now I am hooked. It goes on smooth and shiny with no color. To me, it has a delicious grape smell to it, and it even tastes a little sweet. I use it under my lipstick, or just by itself. It works either way. My lips are absolutely moisturized and soft when I use Silk & Shine!

I have tried A LOT of lip balms/ChapSticks and lip glosses. This is so wonderful. The word "silk" is what drew me in. It moisturizes and has nice sheen without being over powering. I no longer have to wear anything else! I must say that it worked as a lip treatment to me. I had these horrible bumps on my lips which made them look even worse when I put on lip gloss, etc. After using this lip balm for a couple of days they were really soft and supple and the bumps disappeared. The negative thing about this lip balm is that you have to re-apply every 30-40 minutes, or it just wears off. Hopefully I've helped!

Silk & Shine has a really nice feel on the lips (not too sticky, but not too thin either). It has a sweet flavor and a nice shine that isn't too glossy, so it's a great lip enhancer for those no makeup days.

This is AWESOME!! I'm an on-the-go chick, and this REALLY helps!! You dont need to apply lip balm and then lip gloss...you can get 2-in-1 in this cute little tube!! And it tastes great and smells great too- even better!! The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it only has an SPF of 15, while I would have preferred as SPF of 30. Other than that, this lip balm is PERFECT!!!

I don't even know why Blistex would even bother to call this stuff "lip protectant"; it is horrible. It doesn't even help your lips when they are dry and chapped, just makes them glossy and shiny. Yeah, like ya need THAT when you are looking for lip balm, right? This stuff is more along the lines of a gloss and nowhere near lip balm. They should put it into another category; it gives people the wrong impression about this product. I ended up throwing my stick away. The only product that works for me and I love to death is the original Blistex lip ointment (the white creamy one in the tube.) That is the best that I have found so far! Leave this shiny gloss stuff on the shelves, it's not worth it.

This felt good going on and gave a nice slight gloss, but I ended up giving it away because I couldn't get past the smell and taste. This is going to sound weird, but it smelled/tasted like Crisco shortening to me!! My friend who I gave it to said she didn't smell or taste anything when she wore it, but I know I did and I didn't care for it. I'd buy this if it truly had no flavor or had perhaps a fruity or minty taste.
