Very useful product

Bottom Line: recommended

This product works quite effectively on all fabrics that you would normally dry clean at the professional cleaners, even silk. I've been using it for a number of years but it suddenly became unavailable in Sunnyvale, CA. I'm glad to find it here and will buy through Drugstore.com from now on.

I gave this 3 stars because it is fine to use for regular casual clothes. However I got overly excited and used it on a delicate top that I only wore once. Unfortunetly, the fine elastic has come out in the lace-like detailing and looks like little hairs sticking up, making the shirt look too cheap to wear. It was my mistake and hope no one else makes this one. Use this product on older /cheaper clothes that you won't get too upset about if it gets ruined, or non-delicate fabrics.

This is defiantly not a replacement for dry cleaning. It does however refresh your clothes and extends the amount of time between each professional cleaning. If you don't sweat a lot its good to use after each time the garment is worn to keep it fresh, THEN dry clean after the 3rd or 4th use to thoroughly clean the garment. This product does save you money and several trips to the dry cleaner. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because its not the replacement I expected but I will continue to purchase and use in between trips to the cleaner.

The little stain remover thing works okay, I suppose, but the dryer bit? It leaves things smelling nicer, but doesn't do anything more for them than that. After going over it *well* with a lint brush, I put my wool coat in with Dryel. There were still some cat hairs left on it, but not many. Afterwards, I'm pretty sure not one of those cat hairs had even budged. So, on the whole... the stain remover took care of a little bit of spilled coffee no better than a damp paper towel would have, and did nothing for lint or hair. You might as well just throw most things in the dryer with a damp washcloth and Febreze them afterwards; it'd be cheaper and do just as much good.

This product's effectiveness has been somewhat hit-or-miss for me; I wish I could give it 3.5 stars, but that's not an option. :) I tried it on an ivory sweater that had a spot of dirt on it and it worked great; then I tried it on a turquoise sweater with a spot of makeup on it, to no avail. Most recently I used it on the throw and pillows from my couch, and it worked really well to help loosen the cat hair on them (I took out the pillows while they were still damp and used a lint roller on them; the throw I shook when it was dry). It's worth a try for those household fabrics (pillows, throws, bedspreads, etc.) that cost a small fortune to have professionally cleaned.

Works pretty well! Can't get enough of that smell, I try to keep the dry clean clothes in plastic bags afterwords till I wear them. ;). It could be a give-away though if someone is too close, but it's so functional!

I wouldn't use Dryel for anything really delicate or expensive, but it has been greats for chenille throw pillows and blankets -- stuff that would cost you an arm and a leg to dry clean but can't be washed. I do double up on the towels, as one is not enough to dampen even two items.

Dryel is amazing, especially when you don't have many clothes that need dry cleaning. I have to say that I love Dryel, but I hate this scent. It gave me the worst headache that I've had in a long time. Forget about wearing any sort of perfume if you use it. You'll smell too much like laundry, anyway. I can't even find the regular scented Dryel in the stores anymore, which is really sad. If you don't like heavily scented laundry, stick with the regular stuff.

I think the dry cleaning part of this product is good - and very cost effective. And the stain remover is amazing. I got blood on a beautiful white nightgown after surgery - and it had to wait five days until I got home before we could do anything about it. The stain remover and absorbent pad got it right out without a trace of stain. And that's the reason I only give this product 4 stars. Unless you keep buying the starter kit, you can't get the stain remover and pads. They don't seem to have any refills for that - only the dryer cloths. And my local supermarket quit carrying the starters and only sell the refills. The same goes for the bag - eventually it gets unwieldy and needs a replacement - and once again - you need to buy the starter kit to get it. If only there were separate refills for these as well as the cloths, I'd definitely give this product five stars.
