Rite Aid Prenatal Tablets with Folic Acid rates 5 out of 5 stars, from 16 customer reviews.Good Product-Great Price
by Casey[Verified Buyer] in Ohio on 11/4/09
Bottom Line: recommended
I started taking prenatal vitamins just in case I become pregnant. After reviewing several my main goal was to find a reasonably priced vitamin that only required taking 1 pill daily. I've been taking the pills for about a month now and have noticed no side effects and can tell my hair and nails seem healthier so I'm very pleased with this brand.

Best Uses: Daily Use, Women

This is my first pregnancy, so I have been researching online non-stop. My OB/GYN gave me sampled of CitraNatal DHA. There were two pills (1 white, 1 gel). Personally, I am not a daily vitamin gal, so this was a stretch for me. The worst part was the aftertaste. The gel pills made my breath smell like fish. It was terrible! After reading the recommendations online for the R-Aid brand I went for it. The bottles were on sale [...], so I jumped. They have been great! Easy to swallow, no aftertaste, and they go down easy with OJ. As a first time, neurotic pregnany person I would recommend these to my girlfirends for sure!
Rite Aid Prenatal Tablets with Folic Acid rates 4 out of 5 stars, from 16 customer reviews. No iodine, but great otherwise
by Charlie[Verified Reviewer] in Long Island, NY on 9/17/08
Pros: Goes down easily
Cons: No iodine
Best Uses: Daily Use, Women
Bottom Line: recommended
I have been taking these through 2 pregnancies and breastfeeding - they don't make me nauseous and they have good levels of important ingredients. But I have been told by my doctor that I have developed a slight iodine deficiency in the 2nd pregnancy, which apparently 50% of pregnant women have, as pregnant and lactating women need much more iodine than the average person (and there are birth defects associated with more severe iodine deficiency). Lack of iodine is something to consider with this pill - I have to switch to another brand with iodine in it now.
Rite Aid Prenatal Tablets with Folic Acid rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 16 customer reviews. They don't dissolve!!!!!
by fitnessmama[Verified Reviewer] in Raleigh, NC on 9/16/08
Cons: No Results
Describe Yourself: Health Conscious
Bottom Line: not recommended
I did the vinegar test on these vitamins, which I've been taking for 3 months, and the coating took over an hour to 1/2 way dissolve and the vitamin itself was still just sitting there. This means you are just passing it through your system and not actually absorbing any of the vitamin! So these are a total waste of money!!! That's why they're so easy to take, your body isn't actually getting any vitamins!!

Highly recommend! Cheaper than other brands, however delivers necessary amount of vitamins, does not have any unpleasant aftertaste and what's more important for a pregnant woman - easy to swallow. Go for it without hesitation

These really are easy to take. I have always hated big vitamins because of the choking feeling and the burpy after-taste. I have been taking these with a meal as suggested and there is no aftertaste whatsoever. They're ok to swallow too.

I bought these vitamins last night after comparing them with Stuart prenatal - guess what - they are exactly the same vitamin, yet Stuart is over 20 dollars more! So far, no morning sickness and these meet the recommended guidelines for a good prenatal vitamin. Saving money is CRUCIAL right now, so I think these are a good choice without sacrificing quality.

I've been taking this for a couple of weeks as a pre-pregnancy supplement. It doesn't have a taste or smell, is small, you only take one, and it's cheap. I take it after breakfast with a small glass of water and I don't have any side effects. Good stuff.

I have taken these since before I got pregnant. They gave no aftertaste that I noticed. Our baby was born completely healthy. There is no need to buy a more expensive brand in my opinion!
