Band-Aid Single-Step Liquid Bandage rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 26 customer reviews.Older Product Worked Great!
by Barb[Verified Reviewer] in Ranson, WV on 12/19/08
Cons: Doesn't Alleviate Pain, Ineffective
Describe Yourself: Older Adult
Best Uses: Keep In The Medicine Cabinet
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
Many in my family have a painful problem especially in the winter. Our finger tips get so dry they crack and mine often bleed. I've tried many remedies to relieve the pain, and the problem. Last year my sister recommended Liquid Bandage -- the first version, with the little bottle. I tried the applicator, but it never got moist; it stayed rock hard. I trashed them and applied it right from the little bottle. Last winter it worked great! It was worth every penny of its outragous price. With the coming cold, I tried to replenish my supply, but couldn't find the one with the little bottle. My sister said they didn't make it anymore and made all the same complaints already stated about the new version. I finally found one last box of the old version, but it must break down with age. It just didn't work as well as the stuff I used last year. Looks like it's back to the less effective messier solutions.

Pros: Easy To Use, Effective, Promotes Healing
Cons: Ineffective
Describe Yourself: Novice First Aid Skills
Best Uses: Keep In The Medicine Cabinet, Quick Fix
Primary use: Personal
Should've listened to the other reviews on this site, but I wanted to give it a try anyway... Each application contains an INSUFFICIENT amount of the liquid. I much prefer the previous version of the product with the dropper bottle... Would it hurt the manufacturer to add just a few more drops per applicator? Jeeze. Companies that cheap out on things like this deserve the bad reviews they get.

It doesn't work as their older product. Its easier to use on cuts only one thing to deal with . But it doesn't work as good as their old product. Paper cuts open again real easy. Like the idea, wish it worked better

by Mom of Five[Verified Reviewer] in Chugiak, AK on 7/16/08
Pros: Safe
Cons: Does not seal the wound, Ineffective, Not enough glue
Describe Yourself: CPR Trained, Medical Degree, Parent
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
I understand why Band Aid came out with this product as it was hoping to make their original product easier to use and most likely more cost-effective for them. However, this product does NOT work! It is ok for a small scrape but the strength of the glue on the applicator is considerably less strong than their original glue and there is so little of it on the applicator that you could barely cover a small scratch effectively. WE LOVED their original product! Please bring it back!

This new one-step has replaced the old liquid bandage and does not work at all!! I get little cuts in my fingers in the winter and always used the old liquid bandage and it always worked! Now, I put it on and it's like not putting anything on at all and it smells really bad! I really hope Band-Aid brand brings back the good stuff! It's expensive, but it brought such relief!

I don't understand the positive reviews at all! This was a total waste of money! Most of the swabs seemed dry, if one or two in the whole box were slightly moist, they hardly covered more than 1-2 skin cracks.

I really like Liquid Bandage. It covers small to medium cuts very well, and is easy to use. It is worth the extra money. The only disadvantage is that sometimes it gets dirty around the edges, but it stays on until the wound is healed.

This product works extremely well, but I probably won't use it again due to its prohibiively high cost-per-use. While I don't like the regular liquid bandage products as well, at least I don't have to think twice about whether I can afford to use them. Unlike the bandage-in-a-bottle products, the Band-Aid brand doesn't sting when applied, and REALLY only needs to be applied once. I wouldn't depend on any liquid bandage product, though (including this one) to staunch even minor bleeding, no matter what they say. They really can't be applied until bleeding has stopped.

This stuff is fabulous. It's perfect for small paper cuts or knife cuts on my fingers where I can't use regular bandaids because they would get wet every time I wash my hands. I tend to get inflammation even in small paper cuts, and this stuff is a miracle worker in that respect. It is also great for small shaving nicks on my legs. I used it on a nick on my ankle and it did get very discolored, but I didn't care because that was much better than an itchy, inflamed ankle.

1) I like the older products better that are not Band-Aid brand. I like the ones that are in a multiple bottle without an applicator. 2) It is expensive and has a limited number of applicators and a short expiration date. 3) Liquid goes on very thin and is inferior to older products on the market. It is hard to get drops out of the bottle 4) Does not seal cuts well. 5) Basically I was very disappointed with this product. I like these types of products, just not the Band-Aid brand. I am going back to the old ones I have used for 10 years. 6) I liked the applicator idea for cleanliness, but the product is not effective for sealing cuts.
