Band-Aid Single-Step Liquid Bandage rates 4 out of 5 stars, from 26 customer reviews.great for paper cuts
by NK[Verified Buyer] in Colorado Springs, CO on 10/9/09
Pros: Easy To Use, Promotes Healing
Bottom Line: recommended
I still think this is the best product for sealing up papercuts or other small cuts. However, the one step swabs don't seem to work quite as well as the previous version of this product that required you to drop the liquid on to a separate swab. For some reason, the current version washes off more quickly...but it is still worth it for me.

Band Aid's original Liquid Bandage came with applicators and a bottle of liquid. It would activate when you put a few drops on the applicator. Once applied, it would stay put, even after bathing. It totally sealed the wound. They later came out with Skin Crack Gel, which was the same product, but the liquid was thicker, allowing for more thorough application. It was a definite improvement. Band Aid then discontinued both of these excellent products and came out with this new "Single Step" version of the product. It is totally ineffective. It comes off easily and will typically last a few hours at best. It also is prone to tearing, which makes it ineffective with even the smallest of cuts. Hopefully someone at Band Aid will have some sense and bring back the original product.

Band-Aid kept redesigning this product until it no longer works. Not Recommended as it does nothing.

The older version worked well. This one is ineffective and overpriced. Won't even close a paper cut effectively.

Why does Band-Aid charge so much for so little? Their products are not that unique anymore.

Several months ago, I wrote the manufacturer and told them that the one-step product did not seem to work. I wanted to obtain more of the regular liquid bandage, especially the skin crack gel. I was sent a coupon to repay my cost and although the coupon was good for the older product, I discovered that what I wanted was no longer available. I figured that when enough people complained the older apparently effective product would show back up on store shelves but I guess they do not listen to customers (sigh).
Band-Aid Single-Step Liquid Bandage rates 2 out of 5 stars, from 26 customer reviews. Not as good as the original.

Pros: Doesn't burn, Promotes Healing, Safe
Cons: Not as effective
Best Uses: Skin cracks
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: recommended
The original, with the dropper bottle, worked far better. To make these worthwhile, one needs to squeeze the rest of the liquid out of the foil packet. There isn't enough on the applicator. It is better than the product in the small bottle, with an applicator brush. That product stings, and washes off quickly.
Band-Aid Single-Step Liquid Bandage rates 1 out of 5 stars, from 26 customer reviews.order Nexcare instead (which works)
by testmaster[Verified Reviewer] in Nashua, NH on 1/22/09
Cons: Ineffective, Messy
Primary use: Personal
Bottom Line: not recommended
1) 20% of applicators spill glue-like liquid on you when you open it (I have gone through 40 applicators so far to test it). This is totally unacceptable! 2)100% of applicators do not have enough liquid to cover a skin crack well. 3) 40% of applicators are basically dry and won't cover anything at all. 4) Does not last nearly as long as the original product and is not obvious it works at all (with the original you could see that it formed a nice seal). I used the original (bottle+q-tips) Band-Aid liquid bandages a whole lot (daily in winter) for 5+ years (since they came out) and loved the product and recommended it to everyone. This Single-Step version is useless and my mission is to get it off the market totally so folks do not waste their money. Luckily Nexcare saw the market opportunity when Band-Aid ruined their product and now offer two products I would recommend as the best existing replacements for the original Band-Aid products (I have bought and tried several other products too, which have their own limitations, though none are as useless as the Band-Aid Single-Step): 1) Nexcare First Aid Skin Crack Care 2) Nexcare Liquid Bandage (not as thick as #1)
