I use this product for when I go outside to work in the flowers & around musty things. I don't have bad allergies & only want the 4 hour tablet so I don't have anything in my system for very long. It works for me. I love being able to get it on drugstore.com. I only go to town once a week & most of the time I can't find it on the shelf so getting it from here is such a relief. I don't have to go all over town trying to find it.

Sometimes the OLD remedies are the best. I live in the Allergy Capital of the World, Austin, TX. I frequently have to take this medicine to prevent a sinus headache "wake-up" in the middle of the night. Since it does make me sleepy, I take it at bedtime. This is the generic version of Chlortrimeton, and it costs much less than the brand name.

I am 61 Years Old and have allergies all of my life. I have gone through the shots, prescrption medication, etc. FOR ME, this is the best product that I have used, mainly because it works and the price is fantastic. For me, it is the ingrediant, Clorpheniramine Maleate, that works. Instead of taking regularly, I take it when I need it as it starts working 20 minutes after I swallow the pill and will last a full four hours. Overusing it, or taking it when you do not need it will reduce the effectiveness over a long period of time.

Have been using this product for a couple years now and it is the greatest. Having problems finding it in the stores lately though. I do hope they do not discontinue it. Sometimes the basic product, without all the frills and additives, is the best.

I suffer from some food allergies (citrus is just one) and from molds and mildew allergies (read: pillow/blankets after 1 day). I have been taking Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg for over 15 years now, I would say about 3 to 4 times per week. 15 years ago my blood pressure was moderately high (still is), and at that time I was only 27 years old. At that time I inquired about Claritin because it was so heavily marketed on t.v. as being non-drowsy compared to Sudafed. The doctor said, "if you're going to use an allergy pill a few times a week, and you have moderately high blood pressure, then you ought to stay away from Sudafed. And Claritin is not as effective/strong as Chlorpheniramine Maleate, so you ought to take Chlorpheniramine Maleate." In addition to Chlorpheniramine Maleate being less stressful on the heart than Sudafed, and stronger and more effective than Claritin, what I like about Chlorpheniramine Maleate is that it has an extremely long safe track record. One time, I accidentally took 8 of these at one time, thinking they were 81 mg aspirin pills. I called the poison control center and they said, "everything will be alright, Chlorpheniramine Maleate has an extremely safe track record, even at large doses." So, there you have it. It is safe, not hard on the heart, and it really does work, i.e. keeps the sinuses from swelling up. One down side: it may make you drowsy. It makes me drowsy sometimes, so I try to refrain from taking it at work after lunch. Evening and before bed though, Chlorpheniramine Maleate works like a charm. Highly recommended.

I take a pill in the morning and one a night. It relieves the pressure in my head and allows me to function normally. This product really works for me and I depend on it reguarily.

Its almost impossible to find this product on the shelves in large quantities anymore. Drugstore.com helps me avoid the hassle of buying it every other week!! Love the large quantities I can buy here. Doctors push the new drugs when I find this older drug works so much better. Thanks for still carrying it.

Good price and quantity for a product that works

Best allergy relief I've found. I've tried the 24-hour remedies as well as Benadryl which is left me impossibly drowsy, numb and tingly. This works great, at first it made me a bit drowsy but once I started taking 1/2 a tablet I was fine. Perhaps because I am a petite woman the full dose was too strong.
