Very Good Shampoo

After regular hair dyeing some years ago left me with a highly sensitive scalp, I began using a Tom's of Maine shampoo, which I liked very much but the company stopped making it. Their sales rep explained that the ingredients were too expensive for their company to make a cost-effective product, but that some of their customers started using Shikai shampoo and reported good results. I tried it and have been using it ever since. I have found Shikai Everyday Shampoo to be very satisfactory - gentle and cleansing and it lathers well.

I had high hopes for this shampoo because my hair looked great, unfortunately after using for a month I developed an itchy rash on my scalp. To be fair this happens in about 30% of the new products I try, so if you know you're sensitive try another shampoo.

I have dry wavy hair and was looking for a shampoo that I could use everyday, was not drying but still cleaned my hair. I bought this product because it was organic and was for daily washing. I used this product for almost two months to get a good feel for it. Overall I am not impressed. For my hairtype I had to use a lot of it to work up a decent lather. The smell was mild and nice but the shampoo didn't clean well enough. So I felt like my hair never really got washed and I started to get a buildup on my scalp. Maybe this would work better on someone with thinner hair.

I first tried this shampoo just on a whim. I don't really use any other natural products, since I don't trust their quality, but I lucked out with this shampoo! I have oily hair, and this lathered right up, rinsed out, and my hair felt so clean afterward. My teenage brother (whom I share the bathroom with) started using it, too, and insists that I buy it again because he loves how it smells, and this is unusual for him, so it MUST be good. :) Bottom line: It works well, it's natural, and it smells delicious!

This product does smell good and lathers nicely, but it made my scalp itchy and painful, almost as though I had hives. It was probably an allergy, but I can't recommend this shampoo. I've never had a problem like this with other shampoos, natural or conventional. I had to throw it out.

I love this shampoo. It cleans my hair so well that I can hardly believe it's a natural product without the worst chemicals that standard shampoos have.
